    Great running shoe

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I like the 1340, it's a great running shoe. It's flexible, stable, well cushioned, and fits my foot well. It's a more streamlined motion control shoe for people who don't need a big tank. I wore the 1012 before, and loved it. The only problem, while the 1340 is a great shoe, NB should not have replaced the SL2 1012 with the SL1 1340. It's like apples and oranges. I can understand peoples' frustration. I would suggest that NB keep the 1340 for the people that it serves, but update the 1012 to the 1013 and have the SL2 fit."

    Very Poor Replacement for MR1012

    February 1, 2014 by | Hummelstown, PA 17036, USA

"These shoes are terrible ! I have previously purchased three pairs of the Men's Running shoes #1012. They are very comfortable and my feet and legs have never hurt from wearing them. However New Balance made a bad decision in replacing the MR #1012 with the #1340. The MR #1012 have a SL-2 shoe last which is wider in the front of the shoe. The #1340 shoes are an SL-1 shoe last which is narrower than the SL-2 shoe last. I purchased a pair of the #1340 shoes and they hurt my feet and ankles. They felt like my feet were being compressed in the front of the shoes. Also when standing in the shoes the bottoms of my feet hurt because the #1340 shoes are very hard on the bottom of your feet. The #1012 shoes were very comfortable on the bottom because they had more cushioning and felt soft on the soles of my feet. I am returning the # 1340 shoes. I do not know what I will purchase since the #1012 shoes are no longer made."

    Poor support

    December 6, 2013 by | new york

"To call these shoes motion control is misleading. I'll admit to being a big guy 6'1" 205 , but these shoes were not even supportive enough walking around during the day let alone to run in. I felt like the show actually threw me into calcaneal varus and forced me to pronate more than I do in dress shoes or a decent pair of sandals. I would not recommend purchasing these shoes if you are looking for good support and improvement of your foot alignment. I would urge New Balance to rework the review and re-categorize these shoes to prevent others from making the same mistake."

"I have neuroma in my left foot (outside digits) and have struggled to find a sneaker that does not aggravate it. The New Balance 1012 has been the only shoe I can find that works - I rarely ever felt the neuroma - it was great!!! Then when I went 2 months ago to replace them at the local sneaker store, they said they were no longer available. They recommended the Brooks Beast - pushed my foot way outside and hurt bad. I returned them to the store, and they said the New Balance 1340s were the replacement - they too are aggravating the neuroma - pushing me outside. I am going to try to order 1012s or I will not be able to continue running. New Balance - bring back the 1012!!!!"
