    Not as good as 1123

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I'm buying these shoes again because I don't really have any other options at the moment, except to try a different brand of shoe. I loved the 1123's. They were the best shoes I've ever worn and I could walk anywhere and do anything with them on. I've bought the 1540's only because I don't have many other options, but they are not the same. The motion control is not as good, and they just aren't built the same. PLEASE listen to your many customers who are asking you to bring back the 1123's!"

"I have a lot of foot problems and New Balance Style 1123 was a lifesaver but when it was replaced with style 1540 it did not work--non flexible and it made my feet sore and tired. Ihave an almost new pair and I can't wear them . They are not comfortable at all Please bring back the 1123 and I will buy them immediately."

For that kind of money, I expected better

"I was in love with my 1123's, but like all good things, they finally wore out. I had little choice but to purchase their (unworthy) successor, the 1540. It has not been as comfortable as the 1123 AND it has worn out considerably faster. The inner fabric lining frayed. The sole wore out much faster. They were not as comfortable as the 1123's. This shoe was a misstep for New Balance. I hope they will do the right thing and bring back the 1123."

    Shoe not a true SL-2

"I have always bought New Balance SL-2 shoes. I wear orthopedic inserts and need this last. These shoes hurt my feet across the toes and balls of my feet, so I cannot wear them for every long without my feet throbbing."

1540 Does not compare to 1123

"I have been wearing New Balance since 1999... Over the years i have worn styles 810,811, 587, 1121, 1123, 1540. By far the best shoe was style # 1123 - I would buy 4 or 5 pair at a time to make sure i had a stock pile..especially when i found out they were going to be discontinued. The 1540 is a far cry from the 1123. I do not understand why they had to change ??? People were buying them...dont changed what aint broke. Due to foot problems i have custom orthodics and need really good supportive shoes. The 1540 does not fit as well as 1123 - the changes new balance made were not to the customers benefit. 1540 run narrow, short, and has pressure point on sides. I work on conrete floors and I really wish New Balance would bring back 1123 !!!"
