"First of all, I'm NOT an ultra-runner. In fact, I don't particularly *like* to run at all, but it's good, convenient, and much-needed exercise. So when I run, I want some cushioning, need some stability, and also want my shoes to weigh next to nothing. Impossible, right? Until I met these guys, I thought it was! They've saved me from at least 6 sprained ankles and provide an astonishing amount of traction in slippery conditions. I even like the tongue design and the laces. I think they run a little big in the toe box, but I'm sure that's the idea for distance runners. Once you get them tied comfortably, you don't even have to think about them on your run. And if you're like me and don't really *want* to be running anyway, these shoes won't give you any excuse to turn around early. :-)"

"I mostly run OCR, so I wear special shoes for those, but in the last year, I have started doing team trail runs, and needed a shoe designed for trails (sans mud, obstacles and rope climbs) These were recommended to me, by an excellent source, so I gave them a try - and I LOVE them. I am 43 years old and have never been able to understand the minimal shoe movement. I need support, comfort and cushioning out there, and these have them in spades. The lugs are great for the trails, but do not become unwieldy on flat surfaces like some trail shoes do. I am concerned that it looks like they might be discontinuing these...If so, I hope there is something AMAZING in the pipeline, because as far as I am concerned, these need NO improvement."

"I have only used these on the elliptical for 4 miles and noticed that the left shoe at the bottom of the tongue/laces(INSIDE just underneath the pink & gray lines) there 's a rough bump on the inside of that shoe. Also, where the toe band of leather is sewn, that area rubs your big toes. And they are the only shoes that are causing my foot to pronate.Very noticeable on the elliptical because every time my foot would hit the step I'd have to make a mental note to reposition my foot & then it would happen again!!! Never had this happen before! I tried the 1765's outside...great for flat terrain did 61/2 miles the first time I wore them, not enough cushioning when doing inclines/descents! Will try one more time to find a 'fast cushioned walker', if there's such a N.B. shoe...that is the question??Just ordered the 847, wish me luck~smile~"
