Medical and Dental
With New Balance paying approximately 80% of the cost of coverage, our associates enjoy the benefits of a high quality medical and dental program while also having some of the lowest medical payroll deductions.
With low co-pays, no deductibles, the flexibility of receiving medical care from in and out-of-network providers, prescription drug coverage, and features such as fitness and weight loss reimbursements, New Balance’s medical benefits are hard to pass up.
Additionally, our Delta Dental benefits cover approximately 80%-100% of preventative and basic restorative procedures. This comprehensive coverage is available through an extensive network of dentists and is included as part of your medical and dental coverage.
Life Insurance, AD&D, STD and LTD
These company paid benefits give eligible associates peace of mind knowing that they and their loved ones are financially protected in the event of short- or long-term illness or injury and death.
401k
Saving for retirement has become increasingly important. New Balance recognizes this and helps eligible associates achieve their retirement goals with a number of investment options and a generous, immediately vested dollar-for-dollar company match up to 4%.
Flexible Spending
New Balance’s flexible spending account offers associates a convenient way to pay for certain health and dependent care expenses while saving on taxes at the same time. Associates may set aside $2,000 pre-tax/year under the health care spending account and up to $5,000 pre-tax/year using the dependent care account.
Vacation and Paid Time Off
Even though New Balance is a fun place to work, it is important for our associates to take time for rest and relaxation. The NB vacation policy is designed to provide associates with ample time off for leisure and personal activities. The policy provides lump sum vacation time based on length of service. Associates receive 2 weeks of vacation during their first year of employment and thereafter receive three weeks a year, which is then increased with years of service.
In addition, Paid Time Off is available. In general, associates receive 5 days on January 1st of each year. These days can be taken for illness or personal reasons.
Community Connection Volunteer Time
New Balance is committed to giving back to the areas in which we do business. By providing company paid time off to volunteer, associates have a number of opportunities to get involved in hands-on community projects. With a comprehensive menu of volunteer options, our associates are encouraged to get involved in ways that both support the company’s giving philosophy and fulfill their personal giving interests. Additionally, our Personal Volunteer Time program allows associates paid time off to volunteer in their home communities.
Holidays
New Balance has a 10 ½ day holiday calendar. We encourage our associates to cheer on Team New Balance at the Boston Marathon by recognizing Patriots’ Day as a holiday. The day after Thanksgiving is recognized too, which gives associates a four day break and a half day on Christmas Eve allows the opportunity to spend more time relaxing with friends and family!
Flextime Work Schedule
Our associates find benefit in their 37.5 hour work week and feel empowered managing their own work schedules. New Balance gives most associates the flexibility to begin work as early as 7:00am, as late as 9:00am, or any time in between.
Tuition Reimbursement
New Balance believes in the value of continuing education and offers numerous opportunities for associates to grow professionally. Eligible associates may receive reimbursement of up to $3,000 for undergraduate and $5,250 for graduate courses, annually.
Employee Purchase Program
Both in and out of work associates are encouraged to wear New Balance products as well as products within our family of brands—Dunham, PF Flyers, Aravon Warrior, and Brine. We offer significant savings between 20% and 40% on shoes, apparel, and accessories. New Balance also offers discounts on NB branded fitness equipment.
Employee Assistance Program
A free, confidential referral service is available to associates and their family members. Associates can use the EAP when seeking advice on working through life’s challenges. The EAP can also be utilized as a resource for childcare and eldercare referrals and counseling.
College Savings Plan
Our associates can save for educational costs by contributing post-tax dollars to our 529 Plan. Contributions accumulate on a tax deferred basis in diversified portfolios. Withdrawals for qualified education expenses are free from federal income tax.
Corporate Gift Matching
We support our associates’ charitable giving through our corporate gift matching program. Each year, associates can apply for a 100% match (up to $500 each year) of their contributions to organizations that support children, athletics, education, arts and sciences, health and human services, and community development/improvement.

Our associates enjoy hitting the slopes, touring museums, visiting amusement parks, and catching the latest flicks at discounted rates exclusively offered to New Balance.
Discounted Health Club Memberships
New Balance associates are eligible for reduced rates at a number of health clubs throughout New England. In combination with our medical health club reimbursements, associates can pay as little as $13 a month for a gym membership.
On-site Wellness Programs
Lunchtime Pilates classes and on-site chair massages are offered to our associates at discounted rates. Our wellness series, Life Balance, offers a wide array of professionally presented educational seminars that take place both during and after working hours.
