New Balance Opens 100th Store: Ottawa store claims honours

August 19, 2003, Ottawa - New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of its 100th concept store in North America - located in Ottawa, Ontario. It is the fifth New Balance store located in Ontario and the eighth in Canada.

Specializing exclusively in athletic footwear and apparel made by New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc., the store is located at 1371B Woodroffe Ave, The 3,500 square foot space offers an entire line of New Balance performance footwear specifically designed for athletic activities such as running, cross-training, walking, adventure, tennis and basketball.  With styles for men, women and kids available in widths ranging from 2A to 6E, the store also features New Balance high-performance apparel and athletic accessories as well as the Dunham line of outdoor performance footwear.

New Balance Ottawa is owned by Ian Treherne and Jim McFarlane, who also founded Sports 4 stores.  "Ian and Jim have been part of the New Balance team for many years," says Dave Shelbourne, General Manager, New Balance Canada. "In fact, we sold our millionth pair of shoes in Canada in a single year at their Bank Street location. We're delighted to celebrate another milestone together."
