New Balance Debuts the 579 Classic for Spring 2005

September 1, 2004

BOSTON, September, 2004 – For early Spring 2005, the 579 for men and women will launch in the New Balance Classics line.

"The 579 is a modern update to the original 574, which has been a heritage staple in the New Balance Classics line," says Carey Platto, Associate Product Manager for New Balance Classics.  "The new 579 epitomizes our entire Classics collection – it is all about fit, comfort and original style."

With a sleek running profile, the 579 features Abzorb® cushioning in the heel for exceptional shock absorption, a C-Cap midsole for cushioning and flexibility, and a solid rubber outsole for long-wearing durability.  The leather/mesh upper offers lightweight breathability.

The 579, with an MSRP of $70.00, will debut in four color-ways for men including white/silver, black/silver/white, gray/navy, and white/black.  The four color-ways for women will include black/silver/white, white/red, white/royal, and white/black.

"New Balance will continue to launch several additional shoes in the New Balance Classics line in 2005, including BB585 and BB589 classic basketball shoes, a 574 mule for women, classics sandals, and 578 modern classic running styles," says Platto.

As with all in-line New Balance shoes, the 579 will be available in multiple widths and sizes.
