BOSTON, October 27, 2004 - For Spring 2005, New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. will introduce a line of innovative performance apparel, featuring a variety of new fabric technologies.
WOMEN
Running
The women's Trail Ridge Short is composed of cadence fabric making it a lightweight and quick-drying piece. This short features the new Lightening Dry™ fabric technology in the brief which works to keep you dry and comfortable by managing moisture transfer through the use of hydrophobic polyester yarns. A 3D Stash-N-Dash zippered mesh pocket stores energy gels, music, etc. The waist adjusts for a custom fit. MSRP: $29.00
The women's Sleeveless Swivel Top features Lightening Dry® Stride fabrication, which delivers articulation and maximum mobility and freedom of movement. The hydrophobic polyester yarns provide moisture transfer for enhanced comfort. The top is designed with flatlocked side seams to ensure non-chafing comfort and the swivel design and euro-inspired speed collar are aggressive and fast. The sleeveless swivel top is tapered with slim construction that is engineered for performance. MSRP: $35.00
The Sonic Crop is a brand new sports bra designed for medium and full busts and high impact activities. The sonic crop features a phantom chest band construction – the first of its kind - to prevent chafing in a high movement zone for the real runner. This sports bra is composed of a combination of Tactel®/Lycra® for plush comfort and quick moisture transfer. A Lightening Dry™ Extreme liner with nano channel yarns provides rapid moisture transfer and quick evaporation. Two-ply individual preformed seamless cups ensure comfort and shaping. Stretch mesh at the sides and back allow for breathability and ventilation, while Phantom comfort construction in the chest band prevents chafing. Sport Training
Both the Acoustic Pullover and the Acoustic Capri feature hydrojersey fabrication that offers a comfortable fit. The pullover is a half-zip and features side vents, side mesh inserts, and thumbholes at the sleeves. The Capri offers faux fly detail and a mesh lined elasticized waistband for an adjustable fit. The Electric Pant and Electric Jacket are both made of a soft French terry fabrication. Striped rib-knit details on the jacket arm hooks back to the same rib-knit details on the pant pocket. Active Lifestyle
The Fusion Jacket is also composed of a stretch woven fabric. It is a full zip jacket, featuring exposed zip pockets, and a semi-fitted silhouette with stretch fabric inserts for full range of motion. MSRP: $75.00
The Cargo Capri is composed of a stretch woven fabric designed for comfort and ease of fit. This pant features side cargo pockets and adjustable satin ties at the leg opening. A flattering construction

The Fusion Foldover Waist Capri features a nylon/spandex fabrication, offering a relaxed and comfortable fit. The foldover waist construction falls at the hip and can be adjusted according to the comfort of the wearer. The Fusion Folder Waist also comes in a full pant. MSRP: Capri $50.00; Pant $60.00
The Fusion Seamless Tank features seamless technology and includes an internal compression shelf bra for support. The tank also offers textured areas for maximum breathability and a subtle design element. MSRP: $40.00
MEN
Running
The men's Exit Short will debut in the New Balance apparel line in Spring 2005 as a premium running short. Composed of stretch woven fabric for ultra lightweight mobility, the short also has a zippered fly and snap closure for easy on and off wear. A suspended brief enables the brief and shell to work independently for good mobility, an incredible fit, and good moisture transfer without chafing. The Exit Short also features a 3D Stash-N-Dash zippered mesh pocket on the back of the short. This pocket comes complete with a headphone valve and enough space to fit MP3 players, energy gels, lip balm, or anything else you need to keep you moving on your run. The men's Exit Short also features an elasticized cross strap on the outside of the pocket perfect for stowing your running hat. MSRP: $50.00
The men's Valve Tee features BioCool™, an elite base layer fabric that is engineered to ensure superior moisture management. The seamless construction between tight and open knits prevents chafing and allows appropriate ventilation, breathability, and air flow for different areas sensitive to heat and perspiration. The Lightning Dry™ fabric helps keep you dry and comfortable by managing moisture transfer through the use of hydrophobic polyester yarns. The men's Spike Tee is engineered with Lightening Dry™ Extreme fabric with nano channel yarns to quickly move moisture away from the body for rapid evaporation. Breathable stretch mesh zones under the arms and on the side panels provide maximum ventilation and mobility. Within the Sport Training category, a new series of "Motion Tops" will debut for Spring 2005. The Sleeveless Motion Top, the Short Sleeve Motion Top, and the Long Sleeve Motion Top are a new series of Men's fitness tops that have both excellent technical properties as well as great styling.
