I ordered these along with the 993's for my 6yr old. These looked plastic-y, even though the description says leather. They appeared to be cheaply made (not something I expected from NB Kids. We'll stick with the well-made 993's. The 623's are also excellent. I liked last year's version of this shoe, but not this one.

My 5 year old son has had these shoes since the middle of August (less than 3 months) and the velcro tab is about to fall off. I noticed that it was ripping, after the tab on his sister's shoes (same brand and style, different color) had the tab completely fall off. I had to reattach her tab and secure my son's so that they could continue to wear the shoes. I am very dissatisfied with this version of the shoe!
