New Balance had an incredibly successful media event at their October Girls’ Night Out event, at New Balance's New York experience store, celebrating NB’s 25th anniversary with Susan G. Komen. Special celebrity guest, Bethenny Frankel, was a huge hit with the women who attended, as well as with the media outlets who came to cover the event. Bethenny was extremely gracious and sincere in her remarks to the crowd and interviews with media, recognizing New Balance’s longstanding commitment to Komen and the fight against breast cancer. She described her own personal connection to the cause and emphasized the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle to reduce the risk of breast cancer. Bethenny took a bite right out of the 3190 replica cake made by the Cake Boss.

In addition, Dr. Priscilla Brastianos an oncologist and researcher at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA, delivered a moving talk on her personal history with breast cancer, losing both her grandmother and her mom, just a few months ago, to the disease, and why she has chosen to devote her life to breast cancer research, and specifically brain metastes.

In addition, participants went on a Lace Up run, running through the streets of New York City along a route shaped like a pink ribbon.

And everyone was encouraged to sign the step and repeat, to say who they were dedicating their run that night to.
