The 1260v7 is yet another staple in the lineage that is a running stability shoe with a generous amount of lightweight cushioning. The previous models up to now have become noticeably lighter & softer, but don't let that fool you - the 1260v7 still packs a substantial amount of medial posting suport. If rigidity is what you think it's lacking, take the time to visit and NB retail location to try on other stiffer, more supportive models. Ie 940v3 or 1340v3.

Loved v6, so I bought v7

Started running more seriously with the 1260v6, and had great results. Needed a new shoe, so, logically, bought the newer version. Salesperson says the v7 is more narrow than the previous version, but I haven't felt a negative difference. Have run about 5 times in these shoes already (3+ miles a time), and they feel great. The tongue moves outward a bit but nothing serious. Could be a result of my gait. I recommend these shoes.

I wear a size 14, so finding a comfortable shoe can be a challenge. I have owned 2 other versions of the 1260, and the new V 7 fits the same, and appears to be of the same great quality of all of my NB shoes.

I love how soft these feel on my feet while still giving me the support I need to get out there and move.

A "B" is not a narrow shoe

When buying this shoe, I tried to order a narrow. Between what I clicked, and placing the order, the system invariably changed the "narrow to "B". Thinking maybe the shoe ran narrow, I ordered anyway. I could have put both feet in one shoe. I hope New Balance is not discontinuing the AA sizing, because I really need it.

Much less support than 1260v6

1260v6 was great for me with or without orthotics. 1260v7 is way less supportive and does not work at all for me (with or without the orthotics). My first metatarsal hurts because the sole is so flexible, and my ankles hurt due to the lack of pronation support. In addition the toe box is significantly narrower than on the v6. Really too bad as I liked the v6 a lot (asides from the slipping heal).

Every version gets less support

It's a shame - in my opinion, the best running shoe ever made, was the NB 1226. A legendary shoe - good medial support, good cushioning and flexibility. Then came the 1260 - I had a pair of these, and despite being ugly, and a little warm, they were good. Every iteration of the 1260 since, has been a fashion makeover. It seems NB is trying to make the shoe lower, lighter and with less medial posting. Problem is, they have so many other shoes like this. Why read more

Shoes in this class usually feel a bit overbuilt to me...a lot of Cushion and a lot of Stability = a lot of shoe. Not any more, the 1260v7 destroys that perception. It is light, close to the foot, fits great and feels great once you get moving. The way this shoe runs I can even use it on faster days when in the past I might have worn a different shoe. Can't say enough about how comfortable this shoe is and how great my feet feel even after a long run.

I've been buying happily buying 1260 shoes for years. I find myself looking at other models and brands after the v7 refresh. While the support is still good, the top of the shoe and toe box seem much smaller than the 1260v6. They are at times tight. I've also found the tread to be wearing dramatically faster than previous versions.

Stability felt good but too tight to keep on my feet.

I live in a remote location in Alaska and don't have the pleasure of trying shoes on prior to purchase. Over the years I've owned several 1260s. The V7s are entirely too tight where the tongue meets the toe of the shoe.
