I have been using these shoes to train for cross country season. They have held up well through mile repeats, tempos, and shorter workouts as well.

I bought this shoe because I liked the 1500 so much but even less wanted a little less weight (I have big feet) and the 10mm drop. This shoe runs well, but the upper's overlays are a little stiff for my taste (looks fixed in V5) and I prefer the partial sock liner of the 1500 because most of my events are multi-sport and the tongue can fold up when slamming on the shoes in transition. Great shoe for my speed sessions, which is mostly what I end up using it read more

Too Heavy

This is a nice shoe for training or for running races from 5K to Marathons. , but 10 oz is too heavy for road racers seeking the podium. I had to buy 4 pairs of the 5000v2 before New balance took them off the market. Shoes you can run a marathon in are too heavy for road miles and 5Ks. But anyone needing a shoe that you can run a race in and then run to the store in them, these are them. I don't know why they call them racing flats, when there so heavy and read more

Flat Out Phenominal
February 13, 2017
Best running flats I've ever owned. The prior generation generation finally wore those out -- these are even better. Light and comfortable, not just for racing.

No 1600, but these'll do

I'm disappointed NB sees to have phased out the RC1600, but these are a decent replacement if that used to be your go-to racer. Similar fit that's a little tighter, both length- and width-wise.

I've been buying 1400's for the last few years and every version gets more comfortable than the last. I really like the unique colors and usually buy them in all that is offered. I'm not a runner, but I'm on my feet all day and these are the best shoes and keep my feet happy. Thanks to all the guys at the East Cobb location, you guys are awesome!

I liked the feel of this shoe but since I pronate a lot it wore out too fast. Had a NB store employee find me a shoe better-suiyed for my running style.

Tight fit
February 07, 2017
Bought both 1500, 1400 latest versions, and i can say the 1400v4 is much tighter. Less support also. Great colors (but what's up with the grey liner on both?) . Also tongue is kinda flimsy, revealing the sock if not properly aligned. 1500does not have the problem. Haven't run in them yet, just going gym.

Thicker Sole
Brian ShumanBrooklyn, NY
February 07, 2017
I've been a devotee of 1400s for about four years now, getting about 450 miles out of each pair. This latest version has a much thicker sole, without sacrificing the responsiveness of prior versions. Hoping this will result in greater durability, so I can get 500 miles out of the v4s. Thanks New Balance!
