    Too Heavy

"This is a nice shoe for training or for running races from 5K to Marathons. , but 10 oz is too heavy for road racers seeking the podium. I had to buy 4 pairs of the 5000v2 before New balance took them off the market. Shoes you can run a marathon in are too heavy for road miles and 5Ks. But anyone needing a shoe that you can run a race in and then run to the store in them, these are them. I don't know why they call them racing flats, when there so heavy and the drop is so high. 5mm or lower are normally flats."

    No 1600, but these'll do

"I'm disappointed NB sees to have phased out the RC1600, but these are a decent replacement if that used to be your go-to racer. Similar fit that's a little tighter, both length- and width-wise."

"Best running flats I've ever owned. The prior generation generation finally wore those out -- these are even better. Light and comfortable, not just for racing."

    Thicker Sole

    - Brooklyn, NY

"I've been a devotee of 1400s for about four years now, getting about 450 miles out of each pair. This latest version has a much thicker sole, without sacrificing the responsiveness of prior versions. Hoping this will result in greater durability, so I can get 500 miles out of the v4s. Thanks New Balance!"

    Tight fit

    - NorCal

"Bought both 1500, 1400 latest versions, and i can say the 1400v4 is much tighter. Less support also. Great colors (but what's up with the grey liner on both?) . Also tongue is kinda flimsy, revealing the sock if not properly aligned. 1500does not have the problem. Haven't run in them yet, just going gym."
