shoebox says waterproof but this website says top is water resistant NOT waterproof

"After a 20 minute walk in moderate to heavy rain sock on right foot became wet in the small toe area. I was buying these shoes because the shoe and the the packaging were marked waterproof. If you don't plan on wearing these in the rain the shoes are relatively comfortable and solid. Turns out it lets water inside the shoe in a very short time If i had to walk in the rain for an hour the foot would be soaking wet and the other foot would probably be too"

"I purchased the midland. Working in a hotel/restaurant for many hour's with different type of surfaces the midland provides outstanding comfort all day. I would highly recommend them to anyone. You deserve it to yourself to wear the best. They also have some great new styles which will turn heads wherever you go."

"These are not the softest walking shoes New Balance makes, but they are very good. I like them because they are roomy in the toe but tight enough in the heel. (12 2E). I also like the style. More and more folks these days are wearing shoes that are just ugly, but these look more like regular, leather-soled shoes suitable for more dressy occasions short of coat and tie formality."

"Shoes OK but shoe laces are slick and loosen easily. I've tried and tried different ways but they still loosen. Substituted real shoe laces for these cords. Worked."
