I have been a Brooks Ghost guy for years and decided to give something new a try. I am on my 2nd pair of this model and absolutely love them. They outperform my expected mileage and the fresh foam is very durable.

Completely Unusable because of Left Shoe

I purchased the shoes at a local running shop that closed the day after my purchase. As mentioned in other reviews the inseam material on the left shoe was tighter than the right.... by a lot. Three miles in the shoe gives me blisters. They are not even comfortable enough to use as casual shoes. It was a complete waste of money and not what I expect from New Balance. I have been purchasing New Balance for years, that may change without some kind of response.

I have the same issue that the person below commented on. I have put about 20 miles on these shoes and the left one is causing arch pain and fatigue on the outer part of my left foot. The right shoe is perfectly fine however. This is the first pair of NB's where I have had this issue. I have been buying the same size and width for over 10 years. I am going to try and break them in some more but I think this is a defect of some sort.

After wearing these for 4 months, the outsole is completely crushed. I thought the slightly firmer foam would hold up, but it hasn't. My old 880s lasted over a year. I'm really disappointed. Very uncomfortable because the lateral foam has no support I'm walking on the sides of my feet (supinator).

Great fit and very stable & planted feeling. The weight is too high and the cushion is too unresponsive for my taste (I know several others who love it) so I personally don't like the way it turns over when I run in it... but I love wearing it to work/casual/hike. The outsole rubber is very soft blown rubber which is sticky and adds an element of cushion, but it's worn a little fast. I don't mind because I replace shoes often... so just a note.

I wear these shoes everyday as I spend most of the day on my feet. They're stylish and comfortable and add a little flash to the wardrobe. I wear wides and the 2E fits great!

Initially, I had a hard time getting these shoes to fit properly. They just didn't feel right. I had removed the stock insoles and replaced with pressure relief insoles. These shoes would literally pull an ankle sock right off my foot. I considered returning them, but before I did, I took a second look at the stock insoles. The insoles that come with the shoe are paper-thin. I put the stock insole back in these shoes. After giving the 1080 a second chance, read more

I'm a big fan of the 1080 line, having purchased the last 4 models. Unfortunately, these fresh foams are poorly engineered. There is a stitching on the inside part of medial side of the shoe which is brutal if you're running anything past 4-5 miles. I've tried everything, from using Bandaids to blister cushions and it hasn't worked. This shoe is way too expensive for this kind of frustration. Didn't anyone at New Balance try these sneakers out before putting read more
