"Not only did I do most of my cross fit training in this shoe I also ran the spartan and cmc in the same pair! They functioned well, held up to nonstop abuse and are extremely comfortable. I am now onto my second pair as the first pair earned their retirement. My single complant is that they are not Made In The USA."

"I have bought New Balance shoes for years and am disappointed that the 4E -- which was plenty wide in other running shoe styles from NB -- is not wide enough in this style. While this shoe looks really good, it's not great for comfort. I use orthotics and have always been comfortable in other NB shoes. After wearing these shoes on an elliptical trainer four times a week for an hour, I have begun to feel a pain in the bottom of my foot and may just trash them. I would return them if it was within 30 days of the purchase."

"I was incredibly excited for these shoes! I run in minimus 10v2 for my road and MT110 for my trail running. The thought of getting a little more cushion under my road trainers was a welcome thought. However when I first got them and laced them up I noticed that the tongue to the shoe was extremely large (no biggie) and mildly uncomfortable. Once I was in the first few miles, which it actually didn't take me that long to realize this; the foam isn't near as soft as it is claimed to be. Its actually rather stiff. I typically order my shoe size in a 2E and am extremely happy, these however are incredibly narrow, to where the 2E doesn't work well for me in this model, and the toe is extremely pointed which is super uncomfortable for my big toe. The last part to this may be just me and the shoe profile that I'm used to running in but after every run I attempt in the FF980 I have pretty intense hip pain for 3-4 days after word... Looking for a good trainer/running shoe, New Balance has tons of them just not this one."

Yes, I recommend this product.
"I have never written a review before but felt it necessary after having bought these shoes. I have been running in the minimus/barefoot style shoes for the past 3-4 years and as much as I like the feel, it is putting a hurting on my knees. So, I decided to go with something with a bit more cushion. From the moment I ran my first mile in these shoes, I wanted to run further! I think they look great and are very comfortable. I primarily run on hard surfaces with a lot of elevation changes and these shoes feel great while doing so."

"I purchased these with great anticipation as I run exclusively on hard surfaces. Unfortunately, the foam just does not work for me. My feet are always sore after a run of more than four miles. Due to my wide foot and high arch, I use New Balance exclusively and, until this pair, have always been very satisfied with the shoe. The only reason I can figure out is that they are too flat for my running style. I knew they were flat going in, so it has been a good learning experience for me."
