Sorry Fresh Foam, I want my 1080s back

    October 15, 2014 by | Lakewood, CO

    • Used Product For: 2-4 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 20+ miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

"I've been running in 1080s for a few years and New Balance for 10+ years. I love New Balance, and have been very happy with all of their running shoes up until now. I decided to give these shoes a shot, new technology, cool! When I run in these shoes the toe box slaps the ground in a funny and very loud manner. The shoes are fairly stiff and the cushioning does not reflect the name of the shoe, "Fresh Foam". My knees and ankles hurt after only a few weeks of use. Sorry to have spent so much money on a shoe that I am only willing to put 100 miles on. Can't wait to get my next pair of 1080s."

The Fresh Foam and Fresh Foam Trail have a fraying issue

    October 9, 2014 by | Texas

    • Used Product For: 4-6 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 0-5 miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 0-5 miles
    • Primary Activity: Walking

"On my second pair of Fresh Foam and both have frayed after 45 days. This happens on the outside of the shoe at the forefoot flex point at the welds. The welds rub the fabric to the point they begin to fray and it progresses to the point the fabric will rip. Like the comfort and the 4 mm drop. They help my knees from hurting. I use these for light walking and around town. I am not a heavy runner at all."

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I bought the Fresh Foam 980 a couple of months ago when my former running shoes wore out. These are definitely the most comfortable running shoes I've owned. Have run 2 half marathons in these shoes. Just bought a second pair so that I can alternate pairs each day. My only complaint with this shoe is with the shoe laces. They have a tendency to come untied...even when I double knot them. The laces seem to be slick and don't stay tied. I had to stop during my last half marathon when the left shoe came untied."

I *Finally* found my running shoe for 1/2 Marathons!

"I have been on an odyssey to find a good running shoe. At this point I have a whole running shoe graveyard going - and it ain't pretty. Where I've ended up is that I need a lower drop shoe but with cushioning. These are the latest and my absolutely favorite pair hands down. These do feel like slippers on your feet. The uppers are the most comfortable uppers I've ever had with a running/athletic shoe bar none. I have a wider foot and I went up 1/2 size and got the regular width and they are more than fine. I usually wear a 6.5 Wide and I got a 7B and they are fine. The heel fits snugly - no slippage. The cushion is great and not so cushy that I feel like it is marshmallowy. I know many like that but it throws my form off completely. I'm 5'1" and about 130lbs. I've used these from 1 mile to solid 11 mile run's (I do Run/Walk) and they've been perfect for every distance. These really make my form much better - I can run longer, faster, and I don't hurt much after. No real aches other than just from slowly increasing running at my age (almost 50). I do know a more minimal drop is best for me as I have done much better with the lower drop shoes. You can get more technical info from other sources. I just know the NB 980 is the most comfy shoe and I can run my 11 mile run's without pain and walk the next day and with very good form (which helps to be pain free). In fact I'm running a 1/2 Marathon in 2 days with these! I absolutely love them!"
