"Very disappointed in this shoe. I have worn most of the other "Loop" Velcro shoes over the last 15 years that NB has to offer. I tried these...They have cheapened the shoe, it's no longer all leather. The 2 loops Velcro strips now come out of a hoop with elastic, so as you pull to close the shoe it just keeps stretching, so it's almost impossible to close / tighten the shoes. Additionally because this elastic insert continues to stretch the shoes fell sloppy and the "tab" on the end now hangs way down to the ground. I don't know what new balance was thinking but a loose sloppy shoe is not a "good walking shoe with support". BAD BAD BAD! For the first time in 15 years I'm starting to look for another shoe brand."

Yes, I recommend this product.
"I splurged on the NB813 for my birthday. At 66, I realized I had to cave and get a better-quality walking shoe. Since my main mode of transportation is walking, I can't take any chances with my feet. I am so glad I got these. They are very comfortable, fit perfectly, and offer the ankle support I need. I feel very confident when I'm out walking. I also like the Velcro closing instead of ties."
