"I have had planter faciaitus about 10 years ago. That's when I bought arch supports and started wearing the 928 with the roll bar and lots of support. I have never had trouble again. I don't get nearly as tired when I wear these shoes. they are my go to shoes for walking and working during the day.. I have also had great service at the store in Creve Coure , Mo. and on line at the New Balance site."

"I managed an elementary school cafeteria for almost 30 years. Of all the shoes I've worn these were the best. They are super comfortable and wear well. I'm sad to see them discontinued. Please bring this style back. The replacement you have now is not any good. I am going to have to find another shoe company."

Good sturdy, durable walking shoe. Don't go for looks - all about function.

"I am very pleased with my black 928's. The only reason I didn't 5 stars is because they are a bit hard; perhaps some insoles will help cushion my feet. I feel very balanced (no pun intended) and steady in these shoes. Just wish they had a little more 'give'. My knees and back are very happy, as am I. I highly recommend."

"Aging takes its toll and the feet affect much more then just the feet. They are the foundation for the ankles, knees, hips, and supporting the back. Sadly most of us don't know the price we will pay for high heel, ill-fitting fancy shoes until damage is done. I would like to see an easier method to tighten the laces then the standard knot, bow."

The 928 shoe is fabulous. The 928v2 not as comfortable.

"I have worn the original 928 shoe for many years and it is supremely comfortable and supportive. I wear them with the NB400 insole. I have problems with my feet and ankles......neuromas, have had broken ankles, have fallen arches/flat feet and my feet have hurt since I was a kid. But over the years, this shoe has provided much relief from all of these problems. This is why I am extremely disappointed that New Balance has discontinued this shoe and redesigned it into the 928v2. I recently bought the new 928v2 from my valued and trusted local New Balance shoe store to try it out. I have taken a couple of my daily walks in them and also have worn them for daily errands. I can tell you they sap my energy, they don't provide nearly as much support as the original 928s, the toe box is smaller and my toes feel squished. I don't always wear my orthotics, but I tried them in this shoe and they do not fit well. The shoes are shorter in height and that is part of the reason they don't provide the ankle support for me. Also, the material around the top back of the shoe is not leather. It's mesh and does not have the support of the leather. Bottom line, they are simply not nearly as comfortable. Once I knew the original 928 had been discontinued, I bought as many of them as I could find in my size (10B). My local store helped me out with that too. Once all of these shoes are worn out, I'm afraid I'm going to have to start looking for a new brand of shoe that will meet my needs. New Balance, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the original 928!! Thank you for listening."
