I hate wearing white or black so these grey/taupe shoes are perfect. The fit is good for me as I have problems with my feet and need inserts and extra cushion socks. That takes more room in the toes of the shoe. These shoes fit the bill. hanks

If you are looking for a serious stability work shoe, be advised to order WIDER than you usually order. I'm very disappointed that I have to reorder before I get my return exchanged. So much for online shopping with this company.

I have worn New Balance shoes for years, having been prescribed the 1223's by my podiatrist years ago. The leather 928v2, however, are absolutely the worst-feeling New Balance shoes I have ever worn. The uppers are stiff, rigid and the arch supports feel like they are made of brick. VERY uncomfortable. I also find they run a tad small, not much, but still fit tighter/shorter than other models I have worn. I am hoping that the leather will soften a bit over read more

Love the ankle support!

I hadn't tried the lace-up 928 shoe before. The laces are too short for me as I have a very wide foot (4E). However the support to my ankles is excellent! I have such flat feet, I walk on my inner ankles without these shoes and arch supports.

Bought these for my 80 year old mother, to supplement the white pair she owns, which were the "old" model. She says that, after adjusting the laces, they feel exactly like the others. With arthritic knees and a bad case pf pronation- which led to a nasty fall that resulted in an extended hospital stay earlier this year- comfort and stability are hypercritical. She's very pleased with both pairs, sees no difference between the two versions of the 928.

I worked via email with the New Balance staff to find a shoe that would replace the version I purchased 12 months ago. This was the one that was recommended, and I agree with the recommendation so far. I've only had the shoes for about 2 weeks. They felt comfortable from the very first step. I recommend that you give this great shoe a try if you are looking for a very comfortable walking shoe.

Very Disappointing

I am so disappointed with 928 version 2! I have problems with my feet and have worn 925, 926, 927, and version 1 of 928s very successfully but cannot find a comfortable size in the new version of 928. Why tamper with a successful product? Right now I have no comfortable shoes to wear! My son who has worn several in this series also has to return the new version as they are too small for him. So disappointed in your changes!

Bring back the original 928
May 25, 2017
I have owned several pairs of the 927's and 928's they were always very comfortable. i could walk into a store and know exactly what would fit, 10 2E are the perfect size and fit perfectly over the years. However the new 928v2 are to narrow. They hurt my heel, pinch around the toe area. Why change a product that was working so well. I am very disapointed in the new version

Great walking shoes

I need a wide width and only like black walking shoes. There are not a lot of options for women's walking shoes in plain black, especially in wide width. These fit the bill! I buy a pair every year and they last. They are pricey, but I buy them because I don't have any other options that cost less.

Toe box too narrow
CandraLittle Rock
May 21, 2017
I have been purchasing this shoe in all colors for awhile and have bought many pairs, but New Balance so called improvements to this shoe has made this too narrow in the toe box, not a solid stable shoe like it was. If you are diabetic pleas take into consideration that this shoe now fits smaller possible causing rubbing of toe area. New Balance please return this shoe back like it was!
