The Drive Zone
Pressure testing showed that power comes from loading up on the first metatarsal and big toe area.
The Drive Zone is a uniquely textured area of the insert that provides a mental reminder of where players should be driving from.
Thin film along the saddle provides lightweight support and breathability.
One-piece supple synthetic provides continuous flexibility in the saddle.
During the portion of the game when a player is mentally active, they need to be ready to be physically explosive.
The 4040v3 is made to ease the transition as their weight shifts from back to front, with enhanced heel cushioning that helps deflect impact.
Debris Free Tongue

"This is a very poor quality shoe. I continue to purchase it for one reason only and that is it is the only shoe that I can find that fits my foot. I am a 14 D and a NB 4040v3 in size 16 2E fits. The shoe is poorly made. It will last about 20-30 days of playing ball. The molded sole will separate from the shoe body and Gorilla glue will extend the life of the shoe for another couple of games. The inner insole is cheap and glued to the shoe. Should you want to replace it with a better after market insole that provides better support, it will be a pain to remove the NB glued-in insole which provides no cushion whatsoever. The top/body of the shoe is made of some cheap imitation suede like material which will tear easily if the shoe gets wet or you perspire while playing ball. The shoe looks great, but in the final analysis, it is truly a cheap shoe not worth the money. I am not hard on the shoe in that I am 72 years old and play softball four days a week. If I can find another shoe big enough, I'LL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NEW BALANCE PRODUCT. This after wearing NB shoes for over 45 years."

"Really nice looking shoes. Love the 3/4 ankle height for added support. Last pair with hard material on cleats made for much longer wear. I added an arch support insole that gives me better comfort level. Shoe is made narrow even in EE. Would love this shoe in 4E"
