What was wrong with old Minimus -- NOTHING

"You made a great product in the 20V4 Trainer -- then you created multiple different shoes that NOT ONE matches the template -- the 20v4 was a great shoe for training/weightlifting and general wear."

    Big disappointment

"This shoe is too soft and spongy. It absorbs water like crazy. It is too loose and wide even for my wide foot. The tongue wrinkles and does not sit tight. The previous version of this shoe (10v3) was much better. I have worn NB for years but will have to quit if you don't go back to what was a great shoe."

"Shoe were perfect size great fit and very comfortable"

    Jul 14, 2016

    - New York City

"If you want to run on sand, these are great. But once you get to gravel, beware! You will twist your ankle, multiple times. BUT, these shoes are PERFECT for OCR (obstacle course racing) It has the perfect inner arch for rope climbing, very lightweight for puddles, mud and more!"

Not pleased with the new minimus.

    - Palmdale, CA, USA

"Product has too much cushioning. I like the feel of near barefoot with the original minimus. Even my chiropractor loves how my body is back in alignment. At 52 I have to no issues with joint pain when I run..."

    Too high on the Ankle

    - Simpsonville, SC

"I have used the last three versions of this shoe and loved it. However, the newest model is way higher on the foot and ankle. Due to Pins in my ankle, I can't wear this shoe. So disappointed, because it is very comfortable and beautiful."

    this product is awesome

    - MIssoula

"the only bad thing I have to say is that I do a lot of trail running, it takes awhile to get used to running on rocks."

    Fantastic Upgrade

    - Richmond, VA

"New Balance finally found their sweet spot for the Minimus. I've been a Minimus runner for going on four years. I wore out four pairs of the WT1010, I absolutely loved them! They discontinued them (sad day) so I had to settle for the WT10v3. What a disaster. For starters they ran small, which I've never had happen in a NB shoe. To make matters worse they had such little padding (esp around the Achilles) that I still have a scar from the worst blister I've ever received. I had to be extremely selective regarding the socks I chose for my run. The reason I bring up my previous experiences is to provide some context as to why I am SO excited about the 10v4! NB hit it out of the park with these bad boys. I've never been much of a run-without-socks kind of girl but I slipped these babies on and went on a 2 mile run sockless on the first day (just for the heck of it) and it's like wearing a sock with a sole. The insert is slightly cushioned so you can feel the insole forming to your foot, much like a tempurpedic mattress. The padding around the ankle is sufficient to prevent blisters. The front of the shoe is wide enough to allow for both foot swelling and toe spread during your run. It's always best to go up a half size for your running shoe and that technique worked perfectly. NB, I've fallen in love all over again. Please don't go and break my heart by discontinuing these shoes down the road."

    Great minimalist shoe!

    - West Virginia, USA

"These are a great minimalist shoe. I have received lots of compliments on the color and style."

Lightweight but perfect amount of cushioning.

    - Fairfield, CT, USA

"I love these shoes. They are wide enough that I had no blisters after the trip. I hike 6 miles or more a day and never had any pain. The cushioning is perfect but the shoe is so light you don't feel like you're wearing any."

    Dislike the New Design

    - Texas, USA

"I do not like the new design of this shoe, specifically the tongue. It hits me very high on my ankle and is highly uncomfortable. It's very disappointing because I love the previous design of the Minimus shoes and no change was necessary. I have not yet decided if I will be able to wear these, or will need to look elsewhere for another shoe."

    Shoes with healing powers!

    - Pennsylvania, USA

"I am not a runner. I bought these to replace a pair that must have been at least 5 years old, and dearly loved. The old pair were purchased after reading about natural foot shoes and how runners who adopted them had fewer injuries than those who wore immensely padded and flanged shoes. The old pair had rapidly helped a mild (but painful) greenstick fracture in my foot--which I'd had for probably 2 years--finally heal, in less than 2 months. I put this new pair on and remembered how magical the shoes were before they were completely worn out, which you can imagine, after 5 years of regular wear, they pretty much were. I live in them. They're comfy, cute, and not only my feet but my back also feels better when I wear these compared to any other shoe I own."

Compresses arch and jams 2nd & 3rd toes

    - 12578

"I tried on a 9/D at the store and it seemed to fit well- so I ordered preferred color at New Balance store. The 9D I got is smaller than the one I tried on at the store-- the sewn on tongue somehow compresses my arch and the angle of the toe jams my 2nd and 3rd toes. I am going to try to stretch it a bit and give it a trial but Im not hopeful."
