Features
  • 4 mm drop: due to variances created during the development and manufacturing processes, all references to 4 mm drop are approximate
  • Minimus is a whole new approach to footwear, a new place on the spectrum from barefoot running to the traditional maximum-cushioning running shoe. Inspired by Good Form Running and designed to be worn with or without socks. With only a 4mm drop* from heel to toe, as little as a third of that of a traditional running shoe, the Minimus collection holds a world of discovery for neutral runners as well as those with gait issues or chronic injury to conquer by learning better form.

    A Great All-Purpose gym shoe

    April 13, 2014 by | Florida

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Primary Activity: Other

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"Love the minimal drop. I wear these for squats and deads, especially. The minimal drop means I can leave them on, since the gym requires shoes be worn at all times, and not sweat the stability issues associated with taller heel shoes. If I was ever limited to one pair of shoes for all around training, it would be these."

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I waited a few weeks to get these and cannot begin to say how much I like them. One major thing to point out is that there is a very SLIGHT arch. I have a minimus for running that were made for barefoot running, so for many would see the slight change. I was able to transition through out the entire gym with these shoes and even played basketball in them. I will be buying an all red pair this summer and hope to see more high top light shoes like this in the future."

    Not a good Minimalist/Barefoot option

    March 11, 2014 by | NJ

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks

"This is the second pair of Minimus shoes I have purchased and then returned. Each time I've returned them, it has been because they have too much arch support and it digs into my foot very uncomfortably. I struggle to see why New Balance calls these shoes Minimalist/Barefoot. The whole point of barefoot running is that you don't need all of that extra support. Adding this arch support is counterproductive to whole idea of barefoot running. In the next model, New Balance should remove this support entirely."
