The New Balance 20v4 minimalist shoe combines a close-to-barefoot experience with versatile performance. Featuring a durable Vibram® outsole, REVlite cushioning, no-sew upper overlays for comfort and stability, and an anti-microbial treatment to resist odor, this gym show is perfect for sprints or weight training.
Features
  • 4 mm drop: due to variances created during the development and manufacturing processes, all references to 4 mm drop are approximate
  • Minimus is a whole new approach to footwear, a new place on the spectrum from barefoot running to the traditional maximum-cushioning running shoe. Inspired by Good Form Running and designed to be worn with or without socks. With only a 4mm drop* from heel to toe, as little as a third of that of a traditional running shoe, the Minimus collection holds a world of discovery for neutral runners as well as those with gait issues or chronic injury to conquer by learning better form.
  • No-sew material application
  • Odor resistant
  • Synthetic/mesh upper
  • Vibram® outsole provides maximum surface contact and multi-directional traction. Vibram is a registered trademark of Vibram S.p.A. All rights reserved.

    Good for most things

"I bought these a bit over a month ago, and the soles are already peeling under the ball of my foot. These don't do very well with any rotational work (wood chops, etc.). This has been a problem with multiple New Balance shoes I have purchased. the soles of my v3's peeled off when I was doing some lateral agility work. I bought a pair of 1267's that I bought and peeled during rotational exercises. I returned those, and don't feel like going through that song and dance again for a pair I just bought. I really enjoy the look of the shoes, and they feel great as most of my New Balances do. For straight ahead running, and weight lifting they are a great shoe. It's just the rotational stuff that rips apart the bottom. As cross trainers, I hope newer versions are built better for these kinds of exercises. The glue just doesn't hold very well or something. I would like to say it's just this pair, but it has happened to me 3 times with 3 different pairs of shoes. My version 1's never had this issue, and I wore those things for years. The v1 sole was put together differently from any other Minimus 20 I've bought though. (I've purchased versions 1, 3, and 4)"

"After just a few WOD's I started having plantar fasciitis symptoms. These shoes are definitely minimus in the way of support. If you start having sore feet, it's these shoes. Wish I could trade these in but it's just money wasted now."

"I've had this shoe for about 3 weeks. I do a hybrid training regiment and this shoe is amazing. It gives me a natural feel for balance activities, a firm flat foundation for weight training and allows explosive movements foragility training. I highly recommend this shoe."
