Really nice shoe & Excellent Store

    2/4/16 by | PA

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"The shoe is lightweight, minimal cushioning but not uncomfortable, and with a sole that is neither super flexible nor overly stiff. In my experience the sizing runs a little large. I have shoes ranging in size from 10 1/2 to 12, with 11 1/2 being most common and 11 second most common. I ordered these in 11 1/2, they were too big. Returned and re-ordered in 11, still had a nagging feeling that 10 1/2 just might be better, so I ordered those as well. Somewhat to my surprise, the 10 1/2 were the better option. In my opinion and from this experience, I would say that these shoes feel more correct when they are a little snug, and without much excess room. They really seem to be designed to fit like a glove and if they are too large will feel flipper like. So keep that in mind when ordering. My feet are average width to slightly wide. The 2E width fit me nicely. If you have narrow feet definitely go with the D. NB has been a pleasure to deal with. Their returns policy is hassle free, and their customer service was great. That makes me strongly inclined to shop with them again. Once I got the sizing correct I was very satisfied with these shoes and expect they will feel even better when broken in. People have also mentioned that they are made in America. Of the three pairs, two were made in the USA, one in China. Quality was the same on all pairs."

    Great for Lifting

    2/2/16 by | Augusta, Maine

    • Used Product For: 2-4 weeks
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 11-15 miles
    • Primary Activity: Other

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I bought these for primarily as a lifting shoe, and maybe light, short running and machine cardio. My previous Minimus disintegrated after a couple years, but I liked the near 0 drop and style. Most shoes pitch your feet forward, which is bad for most of the major lifts - squat, deadlift, and so on. I'm not big on the style, but the fit is improving with some break-in. I found them a bit tight ahead of my heel, and the arch a little intrusive. The first lift was definitely making my feet ache, but that is subsiding. The vibram sole grips my various gym surfaces and machines with confidence, and the low drop is just about right. I hope it holds up better than the previous smooshy round pattern that fell apart. Shape and style are OK, but I don't like the shoe coming to a point. Flexibility is good and I can kick-box in these pretty well. The price won't seem so high if they manage to not fall apart like the last pair, but then again I suppose my heavy leg press and other movements are hard on them. Time will tell! Still one of the best shoes for straight lifting duty - I love em and maybe you will too."

    Stable, Lightweight, Comfortable

    2/1/16 by | Tri-Cities, WA

    • Used Product For: 2-4 weeks
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 0-5 miles
    • Primary Activity: Other

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I use these for working out. I mainly do weight routines with dumbells. Prior to these I work basketball shoes from another company. These NBs are so much more "minimalist" and lightweight, yet they seem to be sufficiently supportive. I am a fan. One thing that's strange to me is that the rubber-type material on the top of metatarsal area does a semi-annoying thing where it rolls up when I am bending my foot in strides, etc and then "clicks" back flat. Not a performance issue necessarily, but kind of obnoxious."

"Just purchased these shoes. They are what I expected, and what I was looking for, lightweight, minimally cushioned, low drop. I originally ordered a half size too large, returned them and got a half size smaller. In my experience, I've had shoes that range from 10 1/2 to size 12. Mostly I'm a 11 or 11 1/2. In these shoes I needed an 11, and would even take a bit off of that, but suspect the 10 1/2 would be too tight for my larger foot. So, in other words these run a bit on the large side. Due to the design, the width may also be a little wider than with many other shoes, especially many of New Balances models. I have an average to slightly wide foot, yet I've found that with many New balance shoes I require a 4E. These were fine at 2E and I suspect that even a D would have been ok. Despite the minimal cushioning these shoes are very comfortable. I have also not experienced any discomfort at the ankles, Achilles tendon, arch, upper, etc. The fact that they are assembled in the USA is also a nice bonus. I bought them on this site and New Balance's return policy was excellent, very smooth, no hassles whatsoever. So New Balance is doing it right!"
