    ouch, returned these

"I bought these in hopes of having a neutral, flat, low cushion shoe for cardio dance type classes and for lifting. I only had to put one shoe on for a just a few seconds to realize these were being returned. Like the other reviews have stated, the tongue of these shoes cuts into your ankle badly. Instead of these shoes, I am VERY happy with the New Balance spike-less cross country running shoes. They are exactly what I was looking for!"

"The color and the actual sneaker is great they are true to size BUT the tounge of the sneaker is uncomfortable and that's the only reason I give it 2 starts besides that it's a great sneaker the tounge just ruined it"

"Love these shoes... NB vibrams have always been the best quality show for me. Last pair lasted for a few years. Very sleek and comfortable and still the best shoe for my gait"

"Pros: flat soled- so a nice minimalist feel; though the sole could be thinner, it provides plenty of protection on those freshly graded dirt roads, so no complains there. Good ventilation and nice wide toe box (I ordered wide width- my feet are medium-wide and there's lots of wiggle room in the toes- they may run slightly larger than my last NB size 7.5 or my old ones may not have been wide width- either way: roomy). They have a little padding on either side of your Achilles tendon so they don't slip and give you blisters. Cons: odd cut on the tongue and around the ankle- they do tend to dig in at the top of the tongue and they rub under the malleolus if I tighten them too much. They are not nearly as "minimalist" as some other brands, there is a sole and it does not look like it will wear through anytime soon, as I said, there's a good deal of protection from the sole, so a semi-minimalist shoe but not a barefoot shoe. Overall I give them a 6/10. I am keeping them because they are good enough, but not nearly as comfy as my old NBs which I can no longer find in production."

"I really wanted to like these shoes, but they are not very comfortable. I feel they don't provide enough support for my feet. They feel akward."

Uncomfortable! I miss the previous version!

    - California

"The previous version of these shoes was the most comfortable athletic shoe I've ever owned. This version is not good at all. The tongue is so uncomfortable. I keep trying them thinking they need to break in and after an hour get so sick of them I put on my old dingy pair. I really hope the next version is more like the last."

"I thought it was just me . . . but I see it is not. This is a very comfortable show, except for the fact that it rubs into my ankle where your foot will flex. It leave red welts. No good."

"I have always loved minimus trainers except these. The way the tongue is designed made them difficult to lace comfortably and the top was just about 1/2 inch taller than the last pair I had. If I would have worn them for my workout I would have had blisters around my ankle. This is the first NB product that I have not loved. Had to return them."

    Didn't fit

"I previously had two pairs of Minimus and was expecting my new third pair to fit similarly. They didn't. They were very uncomfortable for no specific reason. I found out it's a different last than the older ones, so maybe that's it. My case may be unusual. I'm usually a 11AA, but Minimus doesn't come in narrow. That wasn't a problem on the previous two. But this time, the shoes were not comfy. Sent them back. I wore the previous shoes to the gym and as casual all-day shoes. Loved them. I'm disappointed. Can't find anything similar."

"I LOVE this shoe! A few years ago, New Balance made a minimus shoe with a wide toe area and a Vibram sole that was the next best thing to being barefoot. It was SO comfortable. Then, I couldn't find the fit and comfort any more. I've been looking for that feeling again and HERE IT IS! This shoe feels as if my heel and ball are on the floor/ground equally yet the Vibram is JUST enough padding so that I'm comfortable when walking and my back doesn't hurt when I'm finished walking. The wide toe bed doesn't cramp my feet like other shoes do. I have NO 'claustrophobia' of the feet. Great shoe!"

Needs getting used to but otherwise a good product

    - Miami, Fl

"I bought this shoe since I always take off my shoes when I squat/deadlift. The first one I got was too big since my size varies from 7-8 and my feet are wide, I went with an extra wide 8 and that was too big. I exchanged for a 7.5 extra wide and it's still spacious but comfortable enough for everyday wear and lifting. I tried running in them and it's too difficult, so these are best for weightlifting/walking. Also the tongue hurts your top ankle since there's no cushion there, after a few weeks it softens a bit and isn't so bad so I am keeping them :)"

    Very light and comfortable

    - Mt. Pleasant, SC

"I like how light they are and very comfortable to wear all day. I have purchased minimus shoes in the past and they have never let me down!"

Rocky at first - now I love them!

    - Indiana

"When I first put them on, there was an irritation on the top of my foot at the plastic base of bottom lace loop on one foot. I worked with it and now there's no irritation. I'm glad I gave them a second chance because they are a very comfortable shoe. The burrito tongue is neat, and it never slips. There are two holes at the top so you can adjust the tightness of the fit. I love the minimus - it's lightweight, and flat. A great shoe for working out, and weight lifting. I'll probably buy it again."

I am very, very happy with my 20v5 Trainer.

    - Longmont

"Your 20v5 Trainer has done for me everything that I wanted it to. I was having problems with pain in my legs. An article I read, written by a Doctor, recommended foot exercises and wearing a pair of your Minimus shoes to give me the barefoot feel to help strengthen the muscles in my feet. I have worn them for 2 weeks and I have no more pain and I can feel my legs and feet getting stronger. I highly recommend this shoe."

    not made well

    - CT

"After only one wear on a gym floor, one if the circular rubber tracts on the sole of the shoe ripped off. They were not made well so I sent them back."

love this shoe - it's really light!

    - La Quinta, CA, USA

"I love these shoes. The fact that there is no support means that my feet have to use their own muscles. They keep me grounded! I wear them walking in the Neighborhood & hiking in the desert! This is my 5th pair!"
