    Great running shoes

    3/1/15 by | Gainesville, FL

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 20+ miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I love this shoe. Definitely start use slowly if you haven't run in minimalist before; your calves and feet will be sore. But once you get going they are great shoes and last a long time. I have been doing all my mileage of 40-50 miles a week in them, including 15+ mile long runs. Wide toe box is comfortable, but they are also light and snug. Did get blister above heel at first, but they are broken in now and I make sure to wear socks high enough. If you have good form, and build up slowly or are already used to minimalist, then these are good shoes for any mileage. Would also serve well just as racing flats."

Great fit, wider toe box than version one

1/21/15 by | Little Rock, AR

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 16-20 miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I bought these when they stopped making version one of the Zero, which was my first barefoot style running shoe. The middle, arch area, is a bit more snug than version one but the toe box is a tad bigger... which I find is an improvement over version 1. I love the burrito style tongue that makes them very easy to put on. They stay comfortable on longer (9+ miles) runs, even with foot fall variations and stride changes."

Great lightweight shoe, but tight fit.

    10/6/14 by | Massachusetts

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks

"This shoe is very lightweight and attractive, but it was too tight across the middle of my foot. I ordered a wide fit, but either the shoe runs too small or the flap that takes the place of the tongue isn't long enough so it barely covered the opening on the top of my foot. I had to return them."

I wish New Balance would go back to Version1 of this shoe...

    6/28/14 by | Sweden

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 6-10 miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"The first version of the Minimus Zero is the best minimalist running shoe I´ve ever owned, and I ended up buying four pairs before New Balance stopped making them. The major flaw with the 1st version, however, was the extremely poor durability of the thin upper mesh, which always would start to break after just a few months of running. Version 2 of the Minimus Zero seems much more durable, and it´s overall very comfortable except for being much too snug in the midfoot, which cuts into my feet and makes my arches hurt, thus limiting me from longer runs. I really wish that New Balance would make a new Minimus Zero shoe more similar to the first version (i.e. without the narrow midfoot), but more durable. If, however, you like a bit of cushion in the mid-foot it´s a great shoe. It´s really light-weight and breathable and I love the look. Compared to the High Rez it´s a lot less hard-core and I would think it would be a great start to barefoot running."
