"I purchased 2 pair of 1005's after wearing out 2 pair of 1004s. The 1004's were the best tennis I've worn in a while. I've been playing tennis for 46 years. When the 1004's were discontinued it seemed to make sense to get the 1005's. The 1005's hurt my feet from day one. Please, New Balance bring back the 1004's. I have been a NB wearer for many years and never had a problem with any NB product. Until this experience every NB shoe has been great right out of the box."

"I need stability and a broad platform because my right ankle tends to turn under. The 1000 series tennis shoes were nearly perfect: stable, broad, light on my feet. The 1005 was simply unwearable: It hurt my toes, hurt at the middle of my feet, seemed narrow and without the broad support of the earlier shoes. My right ankle nearly turned under several times before I quit wearing them in disgust after two weeks. An awful revision of a great line of shoes. Bring back the 1004."
