"These are the best running shoes in the market. I used to be an Asics Gel Kayano runner for the past 6 yeas. Then changed to Asics Nimbus variety. These are my first NB shoes. I love them. I also bought NB in soles. They absorb lot of stress when you pound the ground heavily while sprinting. You can't go wrong with these excellent running shoes."

"After running in 1080v2 for years (due to finding several pairs on closeout after they were discontinued), I made a blind jump to the 1080v4 and have been unhappy ever since. It is a completely different shoe. Purchased in February and trained for (and ran) a May marathon, I was plagued with bunion irritation, many, many blisters and knee problems, none of which I had ever experienced before. I am disappointed that the shoe bearing the same model number would be so drastically different. I thought the "new" New Balance numbering system was supposed to alleviate the guessing game of what the updates mean....I guess we're back to guessing whenever a shoe is updated. Until I find a replacement, I am currently running in my two year old 1080v2's, which are still better than new v4's."

Yes, I recommend this product.
"I have never tried NB running shoes before these 1080 v4. I found plenty of cushioning and still feeling the ground rather well. I am not a fast runner and enjoyed comfortable run with a rather smooth ride. So far I cannot say anything seriously negative about 1080 v4."

"I've always run, now jog, with New Balance shoes including several previous versions of the 1080. Never had any problems until I went to the 1080V4. I need a shoe with cushioning, and it's not good in this version, especially in the heel. If you don't need much cushioning, this shoe is probably fine. I've gone back to my 1080V2 and feeling good again."

"I've been running in the 1080 for years, and have absolutely loved it. I don't think a shoe could have fit me better than the v2. But... The v4 appears to be well made as with the previous models, however it is a very different (and for me much worse) fitting shoe. The PL8 last feels sloppy on my foot, whereas the former PL1 last felt like an extension of my foot. It is no longer a shoe I trust for marathon training/running. On the upside, I was able to find 2 pairs of new old stock of the v2, so at least I'm set for a little while :-)"
