"My podiatrist suggested a good shoe....I crushed a joint in my foot and had to have a bone graft to repair the damage. The 1540's provide a lot of support, keep me from pronating my foot and provides a lot of stability that I was lacking before with lower grade shoes (even other New Balance shoes). These were approved by my doctor, after he disapproved of several other pair."

"I ordered size 8 1/2 D. It was much tighter than any other running shoe of that size, especially in the toe box. They caused my feet to tingle and finally hurt badly during a 5K. I wore them as casual shoes for short time periods, and eventually they have stretched out a little after a year of use."

"I have purchased 3 pairs of the NB 1123 and have worn out the last pair. In spite of not very good reviews I decided to purchase the 1540. After trying several times to wear this shoe, I have given up. It is nothing like the 1123, basically for reasons listed by other reviewers. I do not understand why NB will not bring the 1123 back as this seemed to be a very popular and well-liked shoe by all who purchased it. I really cannot seem to find another NB shoe that fits as well as the 1123!"

    Not as good as 1123

"I'm buying these shoes again because I don't really have any other options at the moment, except to try a different brand of shoe. I loved the 1123's. They were the best shoes I've ever worn and I could walk anywhere and do anything with them on. I've bought the 1540's only because I don't have many other options, but they are not the same. The motion control is not as good, and they just aren't built the same. PLEASE listen to your many customers who are asking you to bring back the 1123's!"
