"i had many sneakers that i thought would work for a new job where i am now on my feet. well, not so. after trying this pair on, it works. i paid more than i thought i would need to; however, it is worth every cent...buying online from the manufacturer helps with the costs. i am not in pain and can keep going. looks great..would highly recommend them."

    Cushioning, good arch support

    12/6/15 by | Morrison, CO

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks
    • Primary Activity: Other

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"This shoe has a lot of cushioning all around (resulting in a somewhat bulky shoe). Feels like a supportive pillow hugging your foot. Compared to the other 8 pairs of NB shoes I ordered online, this has the most arch support. I am also not a runner, but will use these for aerobics."

Did not meet needs or expactations for motion control/ankle pronation. Felt like there was a rod in the arch. Returned the shoe.

"This was the latest in several attempts to find a shoe as good as the 817 for pronation. I returned the shoe -- it felt like there was a rod under the arch."

One of the worst pair of shoes I ever purchased.

    8/27/15 by | Brandon, MS

    • Used Product For: 2-4 weeks
    • Primary Activity: Walking

"I bought these shoes recommended by person from New Balance. I was looking to replace my 1540s. I tried the 1540v2s and my toes came thru the tops of my shoes. The 3040 are so squishy. No support. My old ACL injury is acting up since I started to wear them. Please bring back the 1540s. My husband bought a pair also. They only lasted a short time before he had to replace."

Comfort AND support for "senior citizen" with active life!

    6/17/15 by | Delaware

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks
    • Primary Activity: Walking

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"Needed the softer, seamless top and side near my big toe. No other shoe allowed for this. I am "older" and not a runner but exercise daily at our local senior center in the gym room. Also on my feet much of the day at home. Had tendon surgery on left foot 3 years ago and this is the only shoe I have found with SUPPORT AND COMFORT. I will buy again and will keep an extra pair just in case it is discontinued."
