    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I've had the MT510's in the past and these 510v2's. Both were great shoes! I do 10 - 25 miles of trail running a week and they have held up for over 150 miles of running. They are still very comfortable and I'm guessing I should get at least another 150 miles on them before I need to get a new pair."

Run in them cause you "have" to not cause you want to

"I used to do all my running in the original 510. They were great, and never let me down. Then New Balance started making these. There is nothing that I particularly like about these shoes, but I don't hate them either. The original shoe had a regular cushion on the inside and great traction. These have that memory foam stuff and less deeply cut tread. The inserted pad is so poorly fit that my toes hang slightly over the edge of the foam, takes up space making the shoe fit tighter, and takes up for the toe box. There is that cord that run around the ankle. I figured it would catch on something and it did when I was out running on the trails. If you get this shoe (I wouldn't again), I would just cut that cord off from around the ankle. I don't wear gators, so If you do, that may be the place to attache them. I finally did put about 900 miles on the pair that I have. Not cause I loved them, but because I am cheap and didn't want to buy another pair of shoes. These shoes are kind of like a car that you hate, but won't die. The thing that finally killed them was washing them. The entire left side of the left shoe completely fell apart. You can put your hand in though the side of the shoe. As far as the size went, it was the same size that I have always worn in NB. But this time if felt too small and the toe box actually hurt my toes for a while. I attribute that you the superfluous memory foam in the shoe. If I had a second pair, I would cut that out of the shoe too. This shoe did not seem to last long, only 900 miles, fell apart in the wash, and was. . . Blah. I wish they had not changed to the 510v2. that had a good thing with the old 510 and gave it up. Based on all the adds I seem to be getting from NB about all their fancy custom shoes, It seems like they are trying to leave the running shoe scene. This shoe would support that."

Great shoe, but not perfect for PNW Trails

    3/15/15 by | Seattle, WA

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 6-10 miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 11-15 miles
    • Primary Activity: Other

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"To elaborate on that, a lot of the trails we run in the Northwestern Washington area are wet and I would prefer a a more water-resistant shoe. Literally one step in small puddle and your socks will be soaked. However, that is the design of this shoe and overall it is extremely comfortable and gets good traction on stone and dirt alike. I just wish for a shoe exactly the same, with a tighter mesh top to prevent water from getting in near the toes."
