"I have a narrow foot. The 806 is one of the few tennis shoes that actually comes close to fitting properly. Quality is good. Durability has been OK. The shoe is comfortable out of the box."

    Great All Around Shoe

    - Boiling Springs, PA, USA

"Comfortable, good balance, works well with my orthotics. Feet feel less fatigued, as is the case with all of the New Balance shoes I have used. I would recommend these to everyone."

    Unmatched fit

    - Bozeman, MT, USA

"I wear a size 15B (narrow). There is no other tennis shoe that fits me so well and performs so well for me. The negatives are few: they wear out relatively quickly, probably due to the sole material that provides such good traction, and I miss the return policy New Balance used to have for shoes that wore out in less than 6 months. Still, I buy them because I have been unable to find any other shoe in the market that fits so well and plays so well."

    Quality has gone down

    - Augusta, Ky

"Leather seems lighter but has look and feel of plastic."

    806 shoe 4E

    - Newaygo, MI 49337, USA

"Wide and comfortable and plenty of toe room. Had good luck finding shoes that fit from New Balance."

806's are perfect for tennis and every day walking.

    - California

"Great foot support, great price for quality of shoe, durable and great looking:)"

Quality of my tennis shoes was poor.

    - Newtown Square, Newtown Township, PA 19073, USA

"My tennis shoes were shoddy. Stitching near top eyelet was coming apart. There was a cut on rear left shoe. These shoes were a replacement for shoes which had worn out after 5mos. with very limited wear. The replacement shoes did not appear to be first quality."

    Great Shoes

    - Australia

"Having really wide feet (4E) has made it really difficult to find good tennis shoes, however, these are perfect; fit great, run great, feel great. Love them."

Not the same quality and fit as years ago.

    - Fort Pierce, FL, USA

"I have been wearing the same New Balance tennis shoe since the 90's. The model number changes just about every year and the style of the shoe has also changed, just a little. Now I find that I have to purchase a larger size, because they seem to be made much smaller than in the past. I have actually put my three year old sneaker right next to the new one, and you can see how much smaller the new sneakers are, compared to the older ones. Also the tongue keeps falling to the side, no matter how tight they are laced."

The MC806W Tennis Shoe gives the support of a mid cut shoe and is still comfortable right out of the box.

    - Marietta, GA, USA

"I have been wearing this shoe through the entire series - 801, 802, 803, 804 and 806 (NB skipped 805 for some reason). It is still my favorite shoe. It gives the support of a mid cut shoe yet is still very comfortable to play in. The leather is soft but supportive. I need good ankle support and this shoe provides that. The earlier versions had slightly better insoles and I preferred the leather toe guard, but that is very minor. My last pair did wear out the Ndurance sole a little quicker that usual. I still love this shoe and plan to continue using them."

Best tennis shoe I have ever tried.

    - Mesa, AZ, USA

"I have 4E wide feet and New Balance is the only manufacturer I know of that makes tennis shoes that wide. These are excellent shoes on hard surface courts, great traction and can turn on a dime. Outsoles will never last me a year as claimed, as I play tennis every day all year round. I have tried other shoes that caused me severe foot problems. Best tennis shoes for me!"

Why would you put Writing Guidlines in the middle of the Review Summary?

    - SC

"This is the second pair of 806 shoes I have purchased. I like the shoe but the first pair separated at the sole and body. Ifi it happens again, I will buy no more!"

Comfortable Shoe For Extra Wide Feet

    - Scottsdale, AZ.

"I like this shoe a lot. I am a tournament player so I need a shoe that can take a pounding. I also have a 4E width so the choices for me are limited. This shoe felt great from the moment I put it on. There are much flashier looking shoes on the market but I thought it gave me excellent stability on the court. This is my first pair of this style so I am not sure how durable it will be. I will buy this shoe again without hesitation. I prefer it to the old 1005 model which has a mesh upper sole. I think the 806 does not roll over nearly as much when I am moving laterally and have to push off to get back to the center of the court. I think it fits true to size."

    Excellent Support and Comfort

    - Chicago, IL

"I am a lifelong competitive tennis player and have tried many different types of shoes over the years. I suffered a ruptured Achilles' several years ago, and this shoe by far gives me the best support, comfort, and fit out of the box of any tennis shoe that I've worn. The only negative is that I would like to see better durability -- I only get 2-3 months from each pair."

    800 series quality

    - Birmingham, AL, USA

"I have purchased almost every 800 series tennis shoe being the only narrow width available. The quality has decreased in each succeeding shoe. Recently purchased 806 shoes are stiff feels k Like less shock absorbing soles. Punched holes for laces, etc.ww"

    Good looking tennis sneaker

    - Boca Raton

"Besides the looks, it's comfortable and sturdy. good fit"
