Not a Great Shoe for High Arches

"Due to long painful runs in the military, I decided to break down and purchase a pair of expensive tennis shoes. I went to a running store, and they decided that this tennis shoe was the one for me. I tried it on, and it was comfortable at the time, so I bought it. When I conducted long runs, I realized I made a horrible mistake with this running shoe. I started running flat footed, and that is a no-go for someone who has high arches like me. The bottoms of my feet now have tender bumps on them, my feet swell up in the shoes, and my inner calves have sharp pains shooting up my legs. I tried so hard to correct my running with these tennis shoes, and it honestly got way worse than before I bought them. I also noticed the shoes did not absorb much impact, and were not really as comfortable as I originally thought. Every time I slipped these running shoes on right before physical training, I knew it was going to be a very long and painful workout. I really wanted to like this shoe, I really did. But, it just didn't work for me... not even as a walking shoe."

"I've worn only NB since 1993. The stability/motion control shoes for over pronaters have been excellent over the years but generally unattractive. This pair is not only great for my running needs--it's a good looking shoe as well!"

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"(This is a disclaimer that I've JUST received these and can only attest to how they fit at first and their style.) I bought this shoe because it was on a list of shoes my doctor told me to get after I tore both my calves (at different times.) She emphasized stability. My go-to size is 7.5, but sometimes I need to get 8 because my second toe is longer than my big toe, and that's a bit tricky as well because I have really narrow feet. HOWEVER, these fit just right at 7.5, and this is also the first pair of shoes that I bought that are actually sized for narrow feet (2A). A bit snug around the middle of my foot for now but in a really good way. Or maybe that's how they're supposed to fit and I've just lived my entire life wearing ill-fitting shoes... Anyway, the part above the toes is really soft and roomy and comfy. I like the extra lace holes to keep the shoe on your foot. Just wish the laces were long enough to actually tie after lacing all the way up. Style-wise, they're a bit too flashy for my taste but beggars can't be choosers. They also make me a good inch taller which, as a short person, is always helpful. I'll be back after I've gone a few miles in these...."

"For the past year, the outer aspect of my left ankle has become weak and extrememly painful with swelling that now is continuous around the back of my ankle as well. Today I knew that I had to go to purchase a new pair of shoes for work as a care aide, because my foot is yankered by the end of my shift now and I can't enjoy going for a walk because I can't weight bare on that foot! We have a specialty shoe shop in our town and the owner told me exactly what was wrong with my gait and my foot issues and put me right into the new balance 860v4 and bam..I fell in love and my feet were honestly purring!! I actually cannot wait to get back to work to try these babies out for a full shift. I have a feeling that my debilitating foot issues are going to be a thing of the past! So happy!"
