A stable running shoe no longer has to be a heavy running shoe. The New Balance 870v3 reigns at the lighter side of stability, with the synthetic and TPU upper offering a light, breathable, comfortable fit, and the extended ABZORB® crash pad, the blown rubber forefoot and the REVlite® midsole—featuring an 8mm offset—bringing the stability and comfort when the rubber hits the road. Keep things light with the 870v3.

Stitching fell apart on both shoes after 1 day.

"Shoe has a very nice toe box and was very comfortable to walk in. Felt my stride was very good in these shoes. Heel is a bit wide. I walked over 2 miles the first time I wore them without issue. Unfortunately when I took them off I noticed the stitching on the inside and outside of both shoes had come apart."

    Very comfortable, horrible quality

"These shoes fit and feel great on your foot. I have very low/no arches and pronate a little bit as a result. These shoes are lightweight yet still provide enough support to help out with my problems. Only issue is they start to fall apart after a few months. I contacted New Balance about it after my first pair started to degrade at the toe bend (the material on the top just started to fall apart) and they sent me a new pair at no charge. It was even after v3 came out and I had originally purchased v2, so I was hopeful that they would have improved the quality. Not so. This pair is degrading in the same exact spot. And I am not a runner or a high activity person - these were just the pair of sneakers I'd wear when I wore sneakers. Now, less than a year after receiving them, the top of the toe box is ripping and I had to buy new shoes. Unfortunately I went with a different brand as I can no longer trust that New Balance shoes will last. It's really a shame as the shoes really do feel and look great."

Good Shoe - helped my pronation problems

"These shoes are very comfortable for running and walking. I just bought them last week at Irun. I don't know how long they will last, as far as wear and tear, but they support my foot and seem to correct my pronation. I felt the structure and support that I needed the minute I put them on. A great fit."

Great Fit and Support- Fell apart in 3 months

January 8, 2014 by | Cerritos, CA, USA

"Loved the support, fit, lightweight- I purchased and received these third wk of Oct 2013, it is only January and the top layer rubber of the sole is already coming off. The 'paint' on the side of the shoe- bending area of my toes is already cracked an fabric is starting to fray. I am not even an avid runner and only go to the gym 2 -3 time a week. I have other NB shoes which I have had for more than a year and are still in great shape, this is the first time a pair of NB disintegrated on me. Too expensive for a 'disposable' shoe."

Good for the gym. Too flimsy for putting miles on your feet.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I wear an 8EE (really a 7.5EE, but I bought the next-larger size, because this shoe doesn't use the SL-2 last - this turned out to be a good decision). I normally wear the NB1140, but wanted something more colorful - color being almost impossible to find in wide sizes. I was attracted by pictures of the pink-purple version, but unfortunately, in 2E, this shoe only comes in the green/blue combo, so I bought that. It looks nice, and accommodates my wide forefoot - but that's because it's made of far flimsier materials than the sturdy 1140. I only wear this shoe to work out at the gym and would never wear this shoe to run or power-walk on terrain. It doesn't provide significant support to my high arch and feels like it would come apart easily if I really pounded the pavement."
