"I have bought two pairs in the last two years because they look good. I don't have complains about comfort or fitting, however the quality of the rubber sole is really bad. The heels of the first pair worn out earlier than other shoes from NB I have used before, the last pair was even worse, after less than 60 days of use I had to return them and because they were returned a little over the 30 days allowance I have to pay the shipping. I do not recommend this shoe."

"I've bought this line since the 926, but the 928's just aren't comfortable. I bought a pair a while back, but thought it was a fluke as I'd never had this issue in comfort. They are narrow. I wear a 6E, but these fit like a 4E or possibly a 2E. They are tight. I give two stars because they might break in, but if not, true to size is wrong. It also seems to have pressure points as both feet have points the shoe digs in at, which could be the narrowness. Please reboot to the 926 or even 927 sizing and build. 928 is a line I won't purchase again."

"After reading some previous reviews, I was apprehensive about purchasing the 928. I can say I have been pleasantly surprised by the nice smooth lining and lack of "feeling the seams" in the 928s. The only drawback I can see to the 928 is the top edge of the shoe rubs my outer ankles. Hopefully, this will eventually stop with more wear. I have worn the 928s approximately 20 times with no other problems. I was ready to swear off the New Balance brand completely after my experience with three pair of "end of the run" 811s (which were probably soon renamed as 812s). The inside seams rub on those 811 shoes and both pair I still have are extremely uncomfortable and hard on the inside. This continues to be true even after attempting to wear the 811s for the past two years. Hopefully, the 928s will continue to be comfortable and the ankle rubbing will stop. The ankle rubbing does surprise me as I wear orthotics which raise the height of my foot."

"I owned several pairs of a previous incarnation of this shoe, the 926, and they were the best. Unfortunately, New Balance has a bad habit of building a great shoe, and then changing it for no apparent reason. The 576 is another good example, and I've read of many more in other reviews. I have to agree with a previous review: "The 928 is a serious downgrade from previous models". Possibly the most uncomfortable shoe I've worn. This shoe is not a TRUE SL-2. The toe box is way too tight. If you have any kind of foot problems you will know what I'm talking about. These will be returned, and will be my last New Balance purchase."
