    Not Durable

    12/23/15 by | Raleigh, NC

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Miles with Product: 6-10 miles

"Bought first pair and sole started to peel off in first month. Returned them and have worn the replaced pair for about 6 months now. Pigskin is still in great shape but that's it. Soles are totally worn with sides peeling, hole in mesh, lots of loose stitches, and the carbon fiber center on the bottom (not sure of the point) is completely falling apart. Disappointing for just being worn walking around school a couple times a week and the occasional pickup basketball game."

Some pluses and some big minuses

    12/14/15 by | Dallas

    • Used Product For: less than 2 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 0-5 miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 16-20 miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

"First off I've not run in these shoes yet because I'm thinking about returning them. The pluses are that they fit great, run true to size (no need to upsize), are light, and stylish. So what's the problem? The tongue is too short. Comparing them to my other NB running shoes, these could stand for another 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch in length. Using the very back lacing eyelets (so as to tighten the heel) leaves only a few centimeters of tongue area before the laces slip onto the top of my ankle when walking around my living room. I suspect that tongue movement when running may pull the laces onto the top of my ankle--not comfortable and not good. Expensive shoes for such a flaw. Either a design flaw or NB is cutting corners on these shoes. Either way, a bummer. Otherwise, great shoes."

    Great Shoe Made in USA

    9/10/15 by | Fargo, ND

    • Used Product For: 8 or more weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 16-20 miles
    • Primary Activity: Running

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"I've had these shoes for awhile now. I only run in them. They are easily the best running shoes I've ever bought. I've put about 200 miles into them. They keep getting better the more I run. The fact that these great shoes are made in America makes them all the sweeter."

    990 defective tongue

    8/1/15 by | Houston

    • Used Product For: 2-4 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 16-20 miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 11-15 miles
    • Primary Activity: Walking

"I have happily owned several pair of NB990's. However, the latest pair has a tongue which is too short and which slides over to the side. It is too short to even use the upper portion of the lace system! I hope this is a defect and not a design change."
