    great shoe with terrible insert

    1/20/15 by | NYC

    • Used Product For: 6-8 weeks
    • Miles with Product: 20+ miles
    • Avg Miles Per Week: 20+ miles
    • Primary Activity: Walking

"I hike long distance and 25 miles per week in NYC, and therefore I go thru a lot of New Balance trail runners. This version is great and I plan to buy several for my next hike. The comfort, durability, and light weight of the NB models like this one has been great. HOWEVER...the insert that came with the shoe I bought was terrible. In about 0.3 miles it would ride up the back of the shoe and cover my Achilles. Every time I re-set the insert, the problem came back. NB has been puzzled by my communication with them about this problem, but maybe by now it has been fixed. My advice...buy the shoe if you like NB, but buy it well in advance of when you need it in case the problem is not yet fixed. BTW, I swapped out the bad insert for the insert that came on a similar model bought 9 months ago - it worked perfectly as anyone would expect."

    Yes, I recommend this product.

"Not a runner, I am a large man with flat feet and pronation issues which lead to IT Band problems. These shoes are made to correct the probation and keep your feet pointing in the right direction."
