"I purchased both the Pink Ribbon and the blue version of the 847 at the same time. The blue version fit like all my previous purchases, but the Pink Ribbon shoe was shorter and more narrow. Very disappointing and now I am not sure what to do other than return it! The reviews are all different, with different concerns."

"Purchased my size off of another New Balance shoe, was HUGE. Returned for smaller size, they fit, but seams inside rubbed the sides of my feet. I had the right size and a wide fit, just poorly designed and awkward."

Yes, I recommend this product.
"I don't understand the poor ratings on this shoe and the complaints of lack of cushioning. The description states that this is a 'motion control' shoe, so if you need lots of cushion look elsewhere. Otherwise, the cushion in this shoe is fine. The shoe has some stiffness (as it should) and is perfect for my problem foot which has arthritis, a bunion and neuroma. I've learned over the past few months that a softer shoe makes these problems worse but a firmer shoe keeps my foot in correct position and allows me to once again go walking with my dog. Also, a really nice feature is the small drop from heel to forefoot. Soooooo nice not to feel like I'm walking on my toes! The shoe last is an SL-2, which has a narrow heel, with a wider and deeper toe box. For me, I find the shoe last perfect for my custom orthotics since I don't have to remove the existing liner, but for someone wanting a lot of built-in arch support I think you'll find it lacking. These shoes don't fit like running shoes and I found my heel moving up/down while trying it in the store. The salesperson explained that it was due to the stiffness of the sole and as I broke them in that would disappear. He was correct.......after a week I don't notice it anymore. Anyone interested in buying these shoes should read the positive reviews of the non-Komen 847. Same shoe.....different color."

"I bought the Komen 847 several months ago in a narrow size 2A and it fits my foot great and I like the wide toebox as I wear custom orthotics, and this shoe model works so well. It is so hard to find a shoe that accomodates my orthotics. I just remove the insole and place my orthotics inside. I especially like the straight last this shoe is designed upon. So many shoes have too much of a curved shoe last and that is not good for over pronators. So keep making this shoe, and I will continue buying from NB in the future. Yes I would reccommend this shoe, especially to over pronators that need to wear orhtoics."

"I am a competitive walker, previously using a good running shoe until I broke my foot doing what I enjoy most. Because I theorized that the break occurred because of the lack of support in a running shoe, I purchased this model from the local new balance store. I previously used a new balance model that is no longer available, but found that my first workout with this shoe was extremely uncomfortable. Will not purchase again, and cannot use for competitive walking because they are a bit large and cumbersome, keeping me from establishing a good rhythm."
