    Terrible Quality Control and Durability

"I've worn New Balance for decades, and thought I'd try the 627 for work. What a mistake. Within two days a missed stitch in the upper split next to the toe box. Of course this is where the shoe flexes so the seam is constantly opening. I made an ugly fix with shoe glue, but that's not where the problems ended. Next, the sole began to separate from the heel, and then the heel pad above it came unglued from the upper. At this point I've used more glue on this pair of shoe than on all other shoes I've owned combined. The shoe is comfortable, and aside from the repaired seam it's a good looking shoe. The sole pattern traps and holds mud and small stones, so don't wear these if you work outdoors at all. Very disappointing."

    Warning! NARROW!

"In no reasonable world is this shoe a 4E. The steeltoe cup takes up an inordinate amount of that purported width and cuts it down to what feels like a D width on my foot. I haven't even been walking around, just wearing them at my desk for 10 minutes and I cannot wait to take them off. The size is WRONG."

Not very comfortable and poor quality soles

    5/8/15 by | Vergennes, VT

"Bought these in oct 2014 and by apr 2015 the sole on the right shoe split across the ball of my foot. The shoe is not very comforatable as the bottom edge of the steel toe can be felt through the insole and causes a callous to build up on the bottom of my foot shich is painful to walk on."

"I had just purchased a pair of NB 608's in the exact size I purchased these shoes. The 608's fit awesome! Even taking the "steel toe" into consideration - these aren't even close. Too short. Toes are tight to the end of the shoe. Width is tolerable, but not the same as the 608 comfort. I will reorder a larger size/width and follow with a new review. I LOVE NB and its the only shoe I have worn for 40 yrs. Dissapointed in the sizing on this one though!"
