NFL commissioner Roger Goodell surprised many on Super Bowl Sunday when he told CBS's "Face the Nation" that the league will look into a possible ban on the three-point stance for offensive lineman.
The idea, he said, would be to lessen the violent collisions linemen have on every play - thus lessening their chances for short-term and long-term concussion-type injuries. Besides, Goodell suggested, many teams have gone away from the three-point stance anyway.
