It was a tough loss this weekend. Overall the cannons had a great year. They worked hard, stayed fit, athletic and injury free. The team was CATZ ready. They set goals and achieved and exceeded most of them. Now we know how to "Prepare" them for next season.

Alright, soooo... it's only Monday, but I can't wait for the weekend to get here. Last week was my first entire week off this summer. It didn't feel right. I had been playing lacrosse, working camps and traveling all summer, but last week I had absolutely nothing to do. I thought it would be a perfect time to catch up on some conditioning and strength work and it was.... the only thing was that it was pretty hard to get motivated early on in the week. So last Monday and Tuesday I did absolutely nothing. LOL. I mean, I went grocery shopping and rented a few Red Box movies but that's it. Don't worry, I woke up Wednesday with a "what am I doing?" attitude. Wednesday through Sunday I got it in at the gym at least twice a day.

Other than working out I'm trying to keep my mind off of Championship Weekend, because I have a tendency of getting way too wrapped up and thinking too much. Which could make me over think on the field. Definitely don't want that. To keep my mind off of lacrosse, I saw a few movies. I saw Other Guys and Dinner for Shmucks. Both were hilarious! I highly recommend both movies. This week I'll be back at the gym at least twice a week... I already played some hoops with the old guys this morning at 6am. I'll check in with you guys again before we play this weekend.

Holla back,

Matt Casey

That’s the CATZ mantra and words we use to help mentally get our athletes ready. Preparation is the key to success in everything we do. The Cannons are prepared and ready for battle. All our preparation had lead to this one defining moment. You are mentally and physically ready to succeed. Good luck fellas and bring it home for Boston.

**UPDATE 8/13/10: Last week's giveaway is officially over. Stay tuned for future opportunities to win footwear, apparel and more!**

For our home finale this weekend, NB has hooked two of my teammates up with their new cleat for next season, the 897.  It won’t be out until January, but they’re going to be wearing it tomorrow.  And you can win a pair.  Be the first to respond to this post once the game starts (7PM Sat) and correctly identify both players wearing them, and you’ll win a pair for yourself and a friend.

This week started very well! After a 10 day road trip, it was great to finally sleep in my own bed. A nice comfortable bed is one item that I have taken for granted most of my life. It wasn't until I started going camp to camp all summer long that I realized how much I miss my own bed. I know my bed very well. I know what spots stay the coldest. I also know which pillows will get me to sleep the fastest. Needless to say, I really enjoyed sleeping in my bed Sunday night.

I was in the Cuse for 3 days which allowed me to get a bunch of little things done that were building up (ie. Laundry, vacuuming, showering). Thursday I went back on the road again to coach a Boston Cannons camp until Sunday. I am writing this blog and mentally preparing for a game that has no meaning (we clinched the #1 overall seed for the playoffs last weekend).

Our game is 7pm Saturday @ Harvard Stadium. I'll see u there!

The Boston Cannons lost seven games in '09–by a total of seven goals. Just seven goals between them and a championship. But instead of it becoming a sore spot, they've made it a rallying cry. Working with the trainers at CATZ to train harder and smarter and take the next step. To never be outworked. To sweat and bleed together and emerge on the other side of the season as champions. Follow Captain Chris Passavia, rookie Mike Stone and CATZ trainer Mark Cinelli throughout the season as they work towards a championship.
Chris Passavia #44
In his seventh year on the Cannons, the captain is putting in extra work to lead the team beyond the '09 season to championship glory.
Matt Casey #26
In his second year with the Cannons, after two seasons with Los Angeles, this midfielder will have to maintain his top form in order to keep his place in the lineup.
Mike Stone #41
"The Kid" joins the Cannons after a stand-out collegiate career at Middlebury College to experience the sacrifice it takes to be a pro LAXer.
Mark Cinelli
CATZ Regional Director of Sports Performance / Nutrition Manager. Mark and his team at CATZ built a training program to make the Cannons the best conditioned team in the MLL.
