I have been a long time NB wearer due to my wide feet and am a big fan of the ZIPs. Recently I've gotten big into fitness and big into running, and this brought me into my local NB Store. After speaking with the sales associate, she turned my attention to the 1011. Not only did I have the wrong size (12EE when I'm really an 11EEEE) I had the wrong type of shoe for what I needed. Since getting the 1011's my runs and workouts have gotten easier, and I can go for farther distances. The motion control has increased overall comfort in my stride and has given me that push I needed to get over my weight loss plateau.

I recently switched from the 859 to the 1011. In the past six months, I have had plantars faciitis in both feet, achilles tendonitis, and lower leg pain. Despite the pain, I still manage to run 16 to 20 miles a week. Since switching to the 1011s, I definitely feel a difference as the shoe provides excellent support. It has a wide toe-box but starts off a little stiff. Break them in for a few days and you should be okay. I would highly recommend this shoe to overpronators especially to runners with flat feet. NB please don't get rid of this shoe. It fits my mechanics perfectly!

I looked for a new pair of running shoes for weeks and couldn't find the right shoe for me unitl I went to my local NB store. I loved the look of the 1011, but was hesitant to try it on because of the price, but I decided to try it on. After having it on for only seconds I knew this was the shoe I needed to buy! You can't put a price on comfort! Awesome shoe!

I switched from a stability shoe to the 1011 when I started running longer distances. I have low arches and I'm a bigger runner: 6'1" and 180+ pounds. This shoe provides excellent motion control. The wider toe box gives plenty of room up front without sacrificing a nice fit in the heel. I did notice the extra weight and increased stiffness at first, but it's well worth it for the added control during longer runs. I especially like the N-lock and sure lacing systems.

Being a long time New Balance fan I moved from a cushy running shoe to the 1011 due to its stability control for over pronators (I'm a 4E). From the first step I realized these are really different. They clearly provide stability which is immediately noticeable. Unfortunately, they feel heavy and clunky, like I have two boxes on my feet with no cushioning. My feet get tired and achy while running (3 to 4 miles avg.) which I have never experienced in any running shoe. I actually don’t look forward to running in them. They are now delegated to everyday around the house shoe ( I even have them on right now).
