I’ve probably gone over a thousand miles in these shoes, and gone through several pairs of them because I’ve ran in them so much. This is a great shoe for the average runner who runs lightly, or for somebody just starting out. I’ve moved on to the 905s though because I wanted something more advanced (I’m a competitive runner), so that’s why I won’t purchase them again, but these shoes are awesome. They are really cushioned, and feel even better once broken in. I’ve saved my old pairs and use them for walking and everyday shoes because they’re so comfortable. I just made the switch to the 905s before the newer version (the 1064) came out, so I can’t speak on that, but I don’t know how they could have improved. The 1063s got me through a lot of running with ease, and they’re very trusty. If you’re an average runner who just runs lightly for 2-3 times a week, I wouldn’t get any other shoe. I’ve also ran half-marathons in these and they did great also. Make sure you wear a few pairs of these out before you switch to a more technical, advanced, specific running shoe though first. For the vast majority of runners, these are the shoes to go with.

I really like everything about this shoe except the laces. Ever since my parents taught me how to tie my shoes, I have been fairly good at keeping my shoes tied. With these, the laces keep coming undone, including one time during a race. Since I have mainly been using these for triathlons, I finally decided to get some special laces that you pull taut and lock into place instead of tying them (these are designed to save time when transitioning from the bike to the run in a triathlon). I shouldn't have to use these. I don't think I've suddenly forgotten how to tie my shoes. Why are these always coming untied?

This shoe is impressive. From the first moment I put these on, I knew that they were a cut above. The technology integrated into these shoes shows how much New Balance cares about their customers. I am a competitive runner and I normally go through a pair of shoes every six months. I normally measure a 9.5 width and a 10.5 instep, but I am very comfortable in an 11.5 of the 1063. I would recommend these shoes to any runner who wants to put in serious mileage and maintain comfort throughout.

I bought my 1063s a bit late and was excited to upgrade my gear from the 1062. I heard a lot of great reviews and gave my new shoes a test run right after a got them. I did like the sleeker and more athletic design. However, I did notice that I would develop blisters on the balls of my feet after a few kilometers into my run - something I never had in my older shoe. I'm not sure if it was the narrower sole (I'm a size 9 2E) or the way I tied my laces. Hope you could help me out on this.

Had this shoe for a couple months now and even though the fit is great, it suffers from the same odor issue that many New Balance shoes do. I thought it was me at first but after doing some research I have found that many others complain of the same odor issue with this and other New Balance models. The issue is non-existent with other Adidas and Saucony shoes I have. Other than that, it's a comfortable shoe.
Shoe odor problems occur due to two factors: 1. Poor ventilation causing sweat/moisture build-up 2. Environmental factors causing moisture build-up or creating an outright wet footbed. There should not be any odor associated with specific New Balance models, rather we would want to start with the odor itself and isolate the cause. In this case, we would love to get your details and learn more about what could be occurring. For instance, did your 1063 get extremely wet at some point? That's a common cause, particularly when a shoe is not allowed to dry. Or have you noticed any ventilation problems when wearing the shoe compared to others? Let's get to the root cause together.
