I have run in New Balance shoes for several years. I tried the 1225 to see if I could receive additional cushioning, compared with the NB model that I was currently running in and the results have been great! I will definately purchase this model again.

My problem with this shoe is not the design, but the production quality. I bought this shoe and pair of 875 trail runners in November. After 4 months of regular running where I alternated this shoe with the trailer runners, this show fell apart on me at mile 20 of the New Orleans Marathon in February. A portion of the out sole pealed of an was slapping me in the bottom of the foot for the last 6 miles of the marathon. I never wore this shoe when I wasn't running for exercise, and it couldn't of had more than 400 miles on it. This and the problems I am having with the 875 have convinced me to swear off New Balance.
We truly appreciate you reaching out to us and giving us a chance to win back your devotion. We want to have a deep discussion with you one-on-one, would you be open to that? Our problem here with the online review system is that we could offer a guess as to what could have happened, but without further details it's just a guess. We can tell you that the 1225 is a top performer ready to give you miles and miles. Worldwide the shoe has carried thousands of runners to success. An outsole peeling off could be caused by: extremely excessive moisture causing the glue to de-laminate, wearing a running shoe for lateral movement (in other words movement normally reserved for a cross-trainer), excessive wear (ruled out in this case), and factors as simple as catching on a rock or tree root. Our point is that this is not normal and should in no way cause doubt or force you to leave our brand. There must be a cause for the failure, so may we find that cause out together? We are supremely dedicated to your satisfaction - let's talk.
