New Balance Launches Girls’ Night Out To Celebrate, Fuel And Connect Active, Social Women
May 9, 2014
BOSTON, MA -
Global athletic leader New Balance today announced the launch of Girls' Night Out, a new kind of "night on the town" to help active, social women connect with each other and achieve personal fitness goals together. Girls' Night Out will kick off in early May with the launch of a GNO MeetUp (newbalance.com/gno), an app that helps women to create and discover group runs and fitness activities, and invite friends to join in the fun. Later in the month, and throughout June and July, women will be invited to attend themed events in Boston and New York featuring fun runs, influencer-led content sessions, giveaways, opportunities to meet like-minded women in their area, and more.
Girls’ Night Out will offer women the opportunity to redefine what a “night out” with their girlfriends means to them. GNO MeetUp will allow women across the country to plan their perfect girls’ night out by finding group runs, creating new running routes, discovering new hangouts, and inviting friends to meet up for a run. Users can also opt-in to receive “Buzz Run” alerts when new group runs are created in their city or town. To celebrate a night on the town, women are encouraged to share their experiences using #NBGNO on Twitter and Instagram.
“Girls’ Night Out is inspired by women doing what they love — connecting with friends and sharing a night out,” said Norma Delaney, Senior Manager of Global Advertising and Brand Strategy for New Balance. "The program is designed to provide easy-to-use tools to enrich women’s busy lives so that they and their friends can be challenged, rewarded, educated, entertained, pampered, and most importantly, connected, to experience what they enjoy most — fitness and friends."
Events in Boston and New York will begin and end at each city’s New Balance Experience Store. After a warmup and stretch led by certified fitness trainers, attendees will head out on a 3-mile run. The course and activities along the way will vary each month depending on the event theme. After the run, a private event at each store will feature Q&As and demonstrations with health and fitness experts, snacks and drinks, premium gift bags, and more. RSVP is required to attend each event, and can be completed within the digital tool.
Women who sign up for GNO MeetUp will also be invited to enter to win the ultimate girls' night out for one lucky winner and three of her best girlfriends. For more details on the sweepstakes and prize package, please visit newbalance.com/gno.
