New Balance Offers PROCARE™ Program to Connect Retailers and Medical Professionals
October 4th 2010
Boston, MA -
New Balance launched its PROCARE™ dealer network more than ten years ago – a unique marketing program that connects medical professionals with dealers (retailers). Currently, seven hundred dealers make up the program domestically.
To be a PROCARE™ dealer, a retailer must be (shoe) fit and service oriented and must represent the New Balance brand in most major categories of running, walking and training. Each of these categories offer shoe models that incorporate stability, cushioning, and comfort -- three important elements for consumers who seek beneficially better fitting footwear or who may have a prescription from a medical professional.
"We know that staying active in the face of foot health related issues such as diabetes, arthritis, and foot deformities is an increasingly important element in the quality of life," says Joann Sacca, Procare™ Manager at New Balance. "People are looking to remain active throughout their entire lives and will seek the advice and service of a PROCARE™ dealer to ensure they are wearing the correct footwear and that it fits properly."
Every New Balance Procare™ dealer supports the healthcare community by offering products and services that deliver value to both the medical professional and their patients. To ensure that each retailer and their staff possess the highest level of fitting skills, knowledge of foot and function and footwear technology, New Balance has developed an online educational eLearning training program. Each retailer and their staff are required to complete and pass the Procare™ eLearning course.
Upon completion of the course, the fit specialist is qualified to perform a complete gait analysis, observe wear patterns of current footwear and assist in finding the most compatible footwear match to foot type. This immeasurable type of service separates New Balance from the competition and develops a strong partnership between the retailer, the medical professional and patient.
