"It has been an exciting year for the women of Team New Balance," says John Evans, Sports Marketing Manager. "They have trained hard all year and that has shown in the meets leading up to the World Championships. We look forward to cheering them on in Russia!"

Following a tremendous back half of 2012, Brenda Martinez qualified for Team USA and the IAAF World Championships with a second place finish at the USA Track & Field Championships and currently has the third fastest time in the world in the 800m. Brenda recently took the first place in the 800m in a talented international field at the London Diamond League Anniversary Games, winning by a margin of 1.8 seconds. Brenda lives and trains in Big Bear Lake, CA under Coach Joe Vigil. Brenda will begin her quest to become the first American female to ever medal in the 800m Thursday, August 15th.

Current World Champion, Jenny Simpson outkicked an amazing field to win her first US 5000m championship at the USA Track & Field Championships but will defend her title in the women's 1500m in Russia. At the Monaco Diamond League race Jenny once again outkicked a talented international field to take first place, running the second best time of her career in the 1500m. Jenny lives and trains in Boulder, CO under Coaches Mark Wetmore and Heather Burroughs. Jenny will begin defending her title Sunday, August 11th.

Following a break out year in 2012, Kim Conley will look to continue her success in Russia after qualifying in the 5000m. Kim lives in Sacramento, CA and trains under Coach Drew Wartenburg. Kim's first race in the 5000m will be Wednesday, August 14th.
