New Balance Receives Run Walk Ride Fundraising Pacesetter Award

New Balance announced today that the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council has honored New Balance with a Run Walk Ride Pacesetter Award for Best Sponsorship Activation for the company's marketing program which celebrated New Balance's 20 year partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

"New Balance was the clear winner in the Best Sponsorship Activation category of the Pacesetter Awards. It did an outstanding job of making the most of its Komen for the Cure® sponsorship at race and walk sites, at retail, online and more," said David Hessekiel, president of the Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council.

The Run Walk Ride Fundraising Pacesetter Award honors outstanding athletic event fundraising program execution in a variety of categories, including Best Recruitment Brochure, Best Print Advertising Creative, Best Online Video, Best Integrated Online Marketing, Best T-Shirt Design and Best Mission Integration.

2009 marked the company's 20th year as a proud sponsor of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. New Balance celebrated this anniversary with the introduction of a pink special edition New Balance 993 running shoe and a comprehensive marketing program that included an 8 minute video highlighting New Balance's long-standing partnership with Komen for the Cure®, a successful custom YouTube channel and in-store marketing materials. New Balance worked with both GMR Marketing and Marketing Drive to bring this program to life. GMR Marketing managed New Balance's on-site activation at the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® events and Marketing Drive developed program concepts and creative expression.

Last week, New Balance was honored at a lunch held by the Cause Marketing Forum. Christine Madigan was on hand to accept the award on behalf of New Balance.
