The replacement New Balance Court Shoes seem to be ok. Not crazy about the colors. I had to lace them up to the second to the last eyelet to keep them from riding up and down on my heels. When I originally purchased them from a golf store outlet I thought they was golf shoes. However, realized later that they are court shoes. I have been wearing the replacement shoes in the house and will now venture out with them for golf. Needless to say, I am not happy read more

Love, love this tennis sneaker. This is my 2nd pair; the first pair discovered in tennis shop. I need a wide shoe and comfort important during a match. I don't want to be distracted by aching feet while playing. These shoes do not need a break-in period. Slip them out of the box onto your feet and you are good to go. They are supportive and allow lateral movement with no stress on ankles. I'm done enduring blisters and chafing until shoe confirms to my feet read more

The 1006 fit my wide, bunioned feet. This is my second pair. They do start out a bit stiff but my first pair has been great. The toe box is deep enough for my orthopedic inserts and toe spacers.

I have worn New Balance for many years - the only tennis shoes that are comfortable for me. I worry that New Balance is trying to become more fashionable or save on materials, but when it comes to shoes, a size needs to stay the same. The footprint of these sneakers was smaller than that of the same size New Balance tennis shoe that I bought a year ago - too small for me now.

I love this tennis shoe. I bought a white pair to replace my 1005. (I need a wide shoe). They are better than the 1005s! They are less "gomey" and more fashionable! They are a high quality shoe to withstand the wear and tear of clay and hardcourt play and matches! I liked them so much, I purchased a second pair in black!

I agree with all the other reviews. I loved the 1005s. Owned three pairs. They had a roomy toe box, important for a high arched narrow foot. I play on both Har-Tru and hard court and the shoe was perfect. Then I bought a 1006. It runs a half size smaller, but since I wear an 11 and NB doesn't make an 11.5 my choice is to wear a shoe that will be too big (12) or one that is tight unless I wear the thinest sock I own. Even then, the shoe has a more pointed read more

Strangles and numbs

I tried this shoe on in the New Balance store and it felt very comfortable, although I had to go up a half size. On the tennis court I experienced painful numbness in my toes and forefoot. Loosening the laces gave temporary relief but reduced the ankle support. I'm experimenting with orthotics to see if that helps but I think the design of the shoe is just too unforgiving during use. I won't risk wearing these shoes in a match until I can figure out how to soften them up.

What a disappointment

Why can't shoe companies leave well enough alone? The 1005 was my favorite tennis shoe in a very long time. Roomy toe box, good fit in the heel, lots of cushioning. Of course, 2 months after getting my first pair I tried to get a second and they were discontinued, replaced by the 1006. This shoe is so narrow I can barely get my foot in it without a sock on. The toe box is very shallow, leaving little room for your toes and the shoe is much shorter than read more
