Feels dead and the toe box is narrow. Cumbersome. Please bring back the Leadville! Why on earth would you get rid of it?

I bought this despite the bad reviews because I still long for the Leadville, and chat support said that this shoe is the closest thing. It isn't. Holding this shoe up to my 880s , both in 2E, this shoe was a good 1/4" narrower. The toe box is more tapered as well. I did not take it on the trails. I only wore it around the house and it was too small--returned it. FYI I am a lady with bunions and I always wear men's trail runner because of the width. After read more

I bought these shoes for a spartan run coming up. All the trail shoes I've seen before only come in wide so I was excited to see a 4E, however these shoes run narrow and feel clunky so they will be returned. I can advise that the cushioning is nice and the tread is very aggressive and is Vibram so should last. I ended up purchasing the Heirro at a local shop and they seem to be wider.

Disappointed

Shoe wore open around the ankle in the same place on two pair after only a couple of uses. Returned the first pair to the store, but I'm embarrassed to return the second, so I guess I'll wear them out however long that takes. Even spent $50 on the inserts. Now I feel like a chump.

I love New Balance shoes but the design team goofed on the foot last they utilized to build the K.O.M. The foot box is too narrow everywhere. New Balance should withdraw the K.O.M. EEEE version and redesign it to the foot last used for the 860 model. I have EEE feet and wear a 10.5 EE model 860 comfortably for marathons. I just received the K.O.M. in EEEE size and it won't fit well with running socks let alone trail socks. I wish I could post a photo of my read more

Use: Hiking and backpacking. Replaces my previous Leadville V3's Bad: The vibram sole is peeling away from the foam after about 125 miles. The toebox is noticeably narrower than the Leadville V3's. They do not breathe as well as the V3's causing for clammy feet and slower drying. Good: They lock in my heel and support my foot much better than the V3's. The grip seems better than the V3's.
