Great Trail Shoes

Great trail running shoes. Not too heavy and can transition easy onto pavement and still feel fast. Ideally used for dry to mildly wet trails. If you are running in ultra wet and muddy conditions, you will have to take it easy going up and down hills or around corners. They still function in those conditions but do slide a bit. Other than that, great shoes

Runs very narrow

This shoe runs very narrow! I have exclusively purchased NB road and trail running shoes for the past 15+ years, and have always been a 2E width (size 11 or 11.5). This was the first time I ever ordered a NB running shoe in a 2E and found it to be too narrow (painfully narrow). The shoes did not look wide at all. I liked everything else about it, and If this shoe came in a 4E, I would have exchanged for that, but it does not. This is the first time I have been disappointed in a NB shoe fit.

This one fits small on me for sure. I always buy NB 13 wide, have had over 10 different pairs of that in at least 7 different NB types of shoes over the past couple of years and they always fit well, but this one is narrow. I still have used them for trail runs and they did ok. After only putting about 40 or 50 miles on them, I did a trail half marathon race in Vermont and the upper is already ripped in the toe box. I'm disappointed with this one.

I sent the shoes back because they simply did not fit. I have always worn the same size shoe in many brands including new balance. These were to replace another pair of new balance but they definitely don't fit the same. Small in every way. I also don't like that they have elastic holding the tongue down. It rubs against the sides of your feet and is uncomfortable.

I was running technical trails in Adidas Galaxies until I bone-bruised my soles on a descent and had a piece of glass make it all the way into the toebox. After tossing those in the bin, I looked for a light shoe with rock plates and the running store recommended these. The Rock Stop works - haven't felt a single tinge. If you want protection that won't compromise your sensory feedback I'd recommend these - I love them!

I concur with other reviewers that these shoes, for whatever reason, happen to run small. Nevertheless, my interpretations of what constitutes "small" may be skewed since I am a long-time user of the Leadvilles (all three models), which always ran larger and roomier than other sneakers I've owned. Pros of this shoe: durability, grip, lightness, flexibility, feel and responsiveness to terrain, comfort, and ability to quickly dry. The only negative I have read more

I have trusted NewBalance to provide wide shoes. I have the predecessor to this shoe the Vazee Summit V2 which runs wider than the Summit Unknown. You would think NewBalance would make sure their EE with is really a EE width and not just a normal shoe width.

These shoes are light and the tongue is really an elastic strap that gives as you flex your arch. Best walking shoes that I have ever worn!

I switched from an unresponsive cushioned shoe. This has plenty of cush for short to medium trail runs and is SOOOOOO responsive. Great shoe. Going to try Summit KOM for ultras....

My favorite trail shoe

I have run in a variety of trail shoes from new balance to inov-8 to Reebok. I was searching for the one that felt right and looked good. After awhile I found new balance running shoes and I have not switched since. This is my favorite model yet. Felt amazing on my feet and has just the right amount of cushion. I don't like too much cushion or too little and I found this perfect. On top of it I love the name and the appearance of the shoe. I will continue to read more
